This component bought to you by SM2, is designed to help with Database Maintenance.

The component will check the status of all tables in the current database and Repair any that require it. It will also Optimize any tables that have met the Optimization Threshold.

Simple Configuration Options allow for this component to automatically use the default Database connection details, or to use independent ones, enabling the component to check the status of all available Databases and Tables and to modify the Optimization Threshold.
Also included is a command line script that can be used to perform the same action. Simply modify the parameters to point to the root of the site and supply the database details, then it can be run in cron or as as scheduled task.

Installation is easy. Simply install as you would any other component.

A great extension but lacking 1.5 support by JamesX, June 22, 2008

This is a great idea especially for large site's. The extension works very well on my old 1.0.X test site but I would like to deploy this on my active 1.5.X site. Sadly there is no support for 1.5.X. From the amount of reviews I see, this extension hasn't taken to the community too well but this is probably due to the nature of the extension as its more of a tool than a feature. Having said that it happens to be the 3rd most downloaded extension made by SM2.

If it were given native 1.5 support and perhaps marketed more agresively I think we would see a much better reception for this extension by the community.

Simple and easy to install and works perfectly with crontab. Saves me time to do db checking myself.

If you don't have this program yet, I would advise you download and install it. It automatically installs to the header section and constantly monitors your Joomla site. In addition to this the support developer promptly answers you and assists you with any situations related to the installation.

I'm very pleased with this program.
