Why is it that any American designer thinks that no-one actually lives outside of the USA. It makes me sick. This module is a cpmplete waste of time. No UK postcodes. Only useless ZIP codes. Poor poor.

Works exactly as advertised.

Installation was seamless, product setup was effortless,skipped over forcing my users to register for the site (which Virtuemart currently requires and is completely useless for this site), the interface is completely uncluttered, and I experienced none of the problems that some of the previous reviewers had.

As far as I can tell, most of the complaints are because MicroShop does what it's designed to do, rather than what they wanted it to do.

I recommend it!

Like the others have stated I thought this would be perfect for what I need... Nope...

It looks like this was made for WordPress or something and was poorly bridged over to Joomla. No backend admin, you have to enter admin password and database password in frontend with an unsecured connection to even set it up.

Error handling is non-existent. I entered a product and put "$14" for the price. Gave me a mySQL error because I put a dollar sign in the price.

I would not recommend this to anyone for any type of use.

Exactly what I needed.. Simple and it works!!! Yeah, the reviews below are critical, but they miss the point of this component. It's better ecommerce then PayPal buttons and not complicated like VirtureMart.

I found this very good for event registration. I changed the text from In Stock to Space Available and so forth, and I'm having a friend who knows more php make some of the shipping address fields optional. It would be great to add a configuration option for an item to have shipping turned off for nonshipping sales. Otherwise, it's a very handy little extension. Good Work.

I was excited by this extension - I need something small and sweet. The options are limited (paypal only for instance) The interface is quirky and odd, but it works nicely. BUT it doesn't work outside US - There's an option for GBP (Pounds Stirling as used in Merry Old England) but it will only accept US States and US ZIP codes - so it can't be used in UK - what a waste. What's the point in doing part of the job!

Was looking good until...

Only supports paypal(no option to support other gateways)
Does not support international zips(IE Canada)
No support for other shipping methods
Limited currency choices
Does not support multiple languages
Does not support catalog mode

All in all, this could be a great addon with some changes.

What a shame. I was so excited when I saw this component on joomla extensions. Virtue mart is far too big for what I need, so I went a hunting and thought, ooh I shall stop off at sStreamTV and see if this little gem can hold her own on the big stage that is Joomla...

Ok, so if this component were a super star, in no way could it ever be a Madonna or a Barry White. More like a Rene and Renarta, or a one of those bad acting soap actors who decide to release a one off Christmas single!

This component doesn't work. There is no information on the forum on the site which is such a shame really. I would have used it with pride.

Everything as an admin takes place in the front end, which is ok... If it worked! It allows the users to see the backend even when not logged in. The adding of products didn't even show up, and yes I was logged in as admin.

Oh well, maybe it's one of those little components that was a nice idea but should really be thrown into the deepest part of the Ocean. Because you know no one will ever take it on, bandage it and make it better so it can go out there and be a super star.

Failing that lets hope it doesn't release a single this Christmas because I as one will sure not be buying it!
