This is a simple FAQ components. It allows you to create various FAQ categories and add FAQ to those categories. There are various frontend views supported. You can also create tags, and tag your content.
Besides the default fields, it's very easy to create custom fields that can be used like the Joomla Help Site.

Really easy to use. Categories - unlimited sub/sub/sub/sub (post that said there isn't was back in 2006).
The only thing I can think of would be for the person asking the question to be able to receive an answer automatically through email. And for there to be a 'submit a question' link on each page.
I did get an error when canceling a question, but there's a post on the forum on how to fix it...(haven't gotten to that yet).
Nice program. Makes life easier...

Thanks for a great component. The add-on module works well and the main component has a nice layout.

Say FA-Q to the other FAQ extensions and hello to this wonderful little package. I love it. It got the job done. Heck - joomla.org uses it for their FAQs.

I could not get this component to work at all. Numerous Xajax conflicts on the frontend and XML errors on the backend. Developer offers no useful solutions in forum and the suggested updates process from Easy FAQ dashboard doesn't fix the problem. Big waste of time.
I'm disappointed by this as the product looks good on the demo. I truly don't understand why this extension has received such great reviews here. Maybe those people have simple websites without Ajax mambots running or they are friends of the developer.
Not many other options out there in the FAQ category, so I guess I'll have to pay big bucks to get one custom coded.

Needs Parameters by dougm, April 9, 2007

This is a very barebone, get to the nitty gritty FAQ addon. It does exactly what it intends to do. However, if you just want to have an even simpiler FAQ page, without the author, or catagories, or titles, and so-on then this is not for you. There are no parameters for this FAQ other than the author. For functionality and doing it's job, this receives 5 stars. For customization and being able to make changes, this component brings my rating down to 3 stars. Owner's reply: Al this can be found in the parameters of the menuitem that links to EasyFAQ.
If you have only one category, you can enter that ID in the menuitem parameters, and EasyFAQ will open in that category by default.

I love this FAQ extension! by acravens, January 4, 2007

This extension installed in seconds and I was creating my FAQ without reading any documentation. All I did was create two new categories and start entering the Q&As. I had two issues, I didn't like the "was this helpful" question at the end of every answer and my questions didn't show up in the order I placed them in. I went over to the EasyFAQ forum and immediately found posts that told me how to fix these two issues.
I found that I (I'm an admin) could EASILY add and edit FAQ items from the front end. It was so easy and the layout is simple and uncluttered, the way it should be. I'd give it six stars if I could.

Just to understand better:

* search mambot (that returns faq entries)
* add new entry from frontend

Very easy and shows lots of promise by morvenwestfield, December 30, 2006

This shows a lot of promise, but it's missing one feature that I really need and that I think a lot of others would want, too. Since this is only a release candidate and not an official release yet, who knows. It might make it in there -- I'll certainly keep an eye out for it.
It will allow any logged in user to add a new FAQ. I want only "Special" users to be able to do anything other than read a FAQ. So, until this feature is in there, I won't be able to use it, but I will keep an eye on it. As another poster said, Adam has a very active forum and seems responsive to requests. Owner's reply: That is not true.
Only users with Special level are allowed to edit or add FAQ throught the frontend.

Very happy with this fabulous FAQ, quick installation, simple to set up and configure without hassle, true to its name EASY! Has simplified what otherwise would of been a long and tedious task. Big thank you to the Developers for your wonderful work! :)

As easy as it is named by tvnj, November 29, 2006

Simple and easy to use. It event works with 1.5 Beta with some quick hacks. One problem that I had was that linking directly to a sub-category does not inherit the configuration settings from the top, but this is easy to do by editing the src code.

I really like the EasyFAQ component, looks great, no problems at all however I would like to use sub-categories, e.g. Internet Solutions > website packages > general - or Print Solutions > business cards > matt laminate > double side > print requirements - etc...
I know not many people have this requirement for multiple sub-categories but it would be a really nice addition :)
Keep up the great work

This was EXACTLY what I was looking for! Thank you so much for a terrific FAQ. This should replace the Joomla core component for FAQs.
