Slow on debuggin by yamada, January 13, 2008

I was able to try the previous paid version as well as the free version.
The component looks good and could be usefull to people but has a few minor points.
Both versions have a bug.
The mail function (if someone is interested in a vehicle) isnt working.
Its mentioned on their forum as well but not fixed as you will notice when you download the free version.
And they are already working on a newer version while other bugs haven't been solved yet.

Owner's reply:
Hello

Thanks for the review.

Usually I don't reply to the reviews, but the e-mail works, and also posted in the forum what users need to do to make it work, or what steps needs to be done. And the bugs are beeing solved in the new version, that's why we did not released it yet.

Absolutely Great, but not flawless by redwood, September 26, 2007

Like the title, this is an superb component for Car,boat, bicycle, everything dealers.
Fairly easy to change it to your needs, at this time it's not flawless, there are some bugs. But i know there are some good people working on it right now!

Ow.. best of it. It's free!!!! But i would advise the pro version! It's ALMOST free!

Great Component for Admin, but... by mlangham, December 12, 2006

With this particular component, it meets most of the requirements for a down-and-dirty way for a used car dealer to get his small lot on the web.

But lacks a bit in being free from a couple of buggy issues that might be a concern for those not familiar-- read: car salesman that just wants to sell cars, not become fluent in work-arounds.

Most notable in the Gallery function of the component, where although very nice on the display/viewer side, very un-intuitive to the point of bordering buggy on the admin side.

In addition, there is no "user" access to the entry of data. From what I've seen, it's all done in the backend of Joomla-- read: car salesman just wants to sell cars, not explain how he/they didn't mean to hit "THAT" button.

Have I missed something? Is there a way to allow limited access to JUST the component in so far as letting the car dealer only work with the portion of the site that deals with Automobile entry/deletion?

For me, if I were to be the individual responsible for updating the site, I would offer 4 out of 5 stars for this Component, and as a free and open-source package, well worth the price. I'm not sure if it is going to work out for my needs, but who knows.
I had started a joomla/autoStand development of my buddy's site with AutoStand, but have put it on hold 'engine-wise' until I get through with further open-source searching (ouch, a bad pun)

miamisburgqualls.com

It's worth the time to check it out, and the "author/modifier" is pretty responsive to posts at the forum for this package.

Good Start! by Aled, August 3, 2006

Not a bad start. I'm currently testing it. It does state in the code that it uses Estate Agent. This has potential but perhaps getting some one who has a good grasp of the english language may be beneficial in the future. I'm going to make a few readjustments and see what the dev has to say.

just a tuned copy of estate agent by canonikus, July 28, 2006

This is just a copy of the component "estate agent". New designed - thats all. Its not nice that the author does not mention this - as far as I can see.

And - something I realy do not to understand: nobody does notice that the search function of "estate agent" or "autostand" does not work!

Superb by marek, July 21, 2006

This is what a lot of J! users a long time where looking for . We only had, as far as I know, commercial "AUTO components", good but expensive.
Now Nuno from webstylecreations "grabbed" a great component, know by everyone, - EstateAgent - and started rewriting. Exelent job. Also he added a Modul to display all Categories on your Joomla Site. This Project is fresh and recent, and Nuno from Coimbra, Portugal works on it every day to improve and add new funtionalities. See the Forum and get support there. Thank you for this component, and for publishing it as GNU!
