Believe me, I've scoured the web looking for a serious, robust, and feature-packed ratings module that could do what I needed to do for a serious ratings site, not just another quick, cute, hot-or-not script.
jReviews saved my butt, and Alejandro has always given polite, patient, informative personal attention to my needs in record time. And I'm not a developer or a code writer, so those needs were many.
To be honest, a few days ago I was looking around for another solution after using jReviews happily for over a year. Alejandro had decided not to develop a Joomla 1.5 compatible version and I really wanted to upgrade to 1.5. jReviews was the only reason I was holding off.
Since there were no other ratings and review options for Joomla anywhere near close to what I was getting, I was beginning to look at at high-end commercial CMSs and ratings scripts to go with them when I stumbled across the news that Alejandro had reconsidered and was releasing a 1.5 compatible version.
That made me a happy man. |

Great when paired with Sobi2. It's not cheap though at $99.95 and if you want to use with Sobi2, you need an additional piece of software which costs $35.
If you are Joomla novice, the user forum provides plenty of support and the developer will provide assistance through that or directly through an incident ticket.
My view is if you are serious about creating a website with reviews, spend the money and get this. I understand that this month (May 2008) will see the release of a version compatible with Joomla 1.5.xx which I am really looking forward to. |

This is a great component. I've used number of free components and commercial components. It'd say this component is bang for the buck.
Beside the great functionality jreviews provide, what I really like is the community base and the superb support. Whenever I post a question, I can be assured to get a response very quickly. |

This is a great, slick directory component that looks really professional straight out of the box. Excellent support from Alejandro. It's sophisticated and complex, but also user-friendly and logical. The optional extra import script also works very well. |

Have you read all the precedents reviews ? If you take all the positive things that they say, and put it all together, you can understand how this component (with the included modules) and the technical support are fabulous. Each precedent review describe exactly the high quality of this software and the support, and the beautiful clima that is present in the forum, where users help each other, and where Alejandro spread is knowledge in help of the users :).
For first we have used the trial version, and I suggest to every one to do the same, in this way you can evaluate if the component satisfy your necessity. Personally we are using this component for building a site about comics, and this is possible because JReview is very flexible and highly customizable. I like very much 3 modules: DashBoard (we have used it as an article thumbnails module and as a Last Entry module), Advanced Search (We are using it for making an advanced filtre) and Fields Module (we are using it in many ways on the site).
English is not my first language, I'm Italian, so I stop here with my review, hoping that I haven' t made so much errors :P.
I want only add that I'm very satisfied of the purchase.

I've now used JReviews for two commercial sites and am 110% satisfied with the results - as are my clients. Like others, I am wary of buying components these days after wasting money on quite a few that promised something that they could not deliver. JReviews not only delivers everything promised, it is flexible and powerful enough to be customized and stretched beyond its initial purpose. I have not run across a single issue/custom feature that could not be resolved either by myself or the rapid response support of the developer.
If you are looking to design a professional review site or even a simpler directory without reviews, I urge you to spend the few dollars to save countless hours... JReviews is by far your best option. |

This is my first experience of any kind with setting up a website. My site will focus on product reviews so I needed a solid and professional review component for Joomla. I tried a few others and then decided to purchase jreviews. The install and setup was easy even with no previous experience and the reviews look great. I had a problem with compatability with another installed component and submitted a support request. The response was very fast and the information helpful and accurate. I feel jreviews is a good investment and delivers great looking reviews and solid performance. |

jReviews is one of the best components i have ever brought for my Joomla Based site. Right out of the box its features were amazing... The component allows easy customization to your site setup through Directory --> Section --> Category structure, and if you have other components on your site, such as Sobi2, the jReviews Everywhere add-on will link the functionality of jReviews to that of Sobi2.
In addition to the fantastic component provided, which in my opinion is simple, efficient and feature packed. The support provided is in my opinion top notch. The developer responds to questions very quickly, and the forums are very active with many users helping each other.
If you are after a review system of sorts, a directory like component. Then jReviews is for you! |

Don't expect a little piece of software you install, set two or three parameters and it works. It is not possible for a flexible software like JREVIEWS. It takes some time to understand the concept but once you learned how to handle it is a very powerful tool.
But what is a tool without support? Alejandro provides one of the best supports I've ever seen. He has a great passion for his software. The most important indicator is the response time for service requests: just a few hours. Companies like M$ take several tenthousends Dollars for a comparable service.
The software is not open source but the few Dollars save lots of time of own development. |

JReviews is a great product constantly getting better.
Questions in the forums are answered promptly, features are added regularly.
We are using this product for a community directory with reviews and are very happy with it and heartily recommend it. |

This is probably the most stable and most sophisticated yet simple plugin ever made. This is my first review on this site, but I went to the whole registration process on this site just to write a review for this plugin.
Anything that you can ever imagine doing with a Review/Rating system, you can do with this extension. I had been writing our requirements document to build a similar system from scratch. I had estimated it would take 3-5 months to build. When I saw this component, by jaw dropped in amazement of all it could do. Best yet, if you come up with a functionality that isn't part of the extension, be rest assured the developer is more than willing to add it to the system.
It comes with a great full demo (front-end and backend) as well as an awesome full trial version. I used the trial version for the whole 2 weeks exploring all its functionality and finally bought the component.
The documentation is a bit low, but is compensated for by the developer who usually responds to all requests within a few hours.
Some advice: For those who are going to use this extension, the best way to learn it is to install it then look at the demo backend and try to recreate the sceneries. |

The idea is really good. And possibilities are great. The only one thing: the configuration and the whole admin panel is very hard to undersand. Need several days to undersand how this whole component works, and I swar, I'm not idiot ;)
But if you're able to configure this component, you can use it for almost everything. :) Owner's reply: The video tutorials on the site and full access to the demo administration are great tools to guide you through the setup process. That is of course in addition to the forum and ticket system where all questions are quickly answered. |

I have installed almost every component for Joomla, and I’m always in the hunt for new ones, and definitely jreviews it’s the best one. Starting from out of the box simplicity to the best customer service you can find in Joomla components. I was surprised how many things you are able to do with this component. The last site we installed it’s a job board where people can summit jobs, resumes, even articles. We needed to have custom fields, and searches, so jreviews fitted perfect. |

The component jReviews and jReviews + Everywhere are excellent. Very easy to install and easy to configure to your needs.
But what strikes, is the awesome support. Write a question on the forum and within no time you get an answer of the developer(s). If it can't be solved in this way, just submit a ticket to the client-area and they solve the problem for you.
It is definitly worth the money you pay for it. |
