Multi-criteria rating & review system fully integrated into Joomla's content management system. Integrates into Joomla's frontpage, blogsection and blogcategory views so ratings & review information is visibile throughout the site.

Allows reviewing of books, cars, restaurants, websites, software, hotels, phones, service providers, movies, music, businesses, travel, games, schools, you name it! It is also possible to build vertical market applications. This is the very first review I am writing on this platform. I wonder if Alejandro ever sleeps. He responds to messages in minutes. This is one of the best support service I have received anywhere in a long time. I hope to write a review on jReviews soon, when we start using the script.

How this isn't the top rated component on Joomla.org I'll never know. Yes, there is a a fairly steep learning curve. But the support is top notch at the forum and we are all asking so many questions and getting good answers that you can search your way to most things fairly quickly. The customization possible is incredible. I hesitated to buy it because I don't have much cash but I'm so very pleased I can't even express it. If you need ratings on your site then you need this component. Enough said.

First of all before I go into the product itself I would like to point out that the product support through the forum is just absolutely unbeatable. The responses are quick, friendly, and he deals with people that ask stupid questions (like me lol) very well and is extremely patient, taking it step by step.

So far I would have to give the support a 100 %

The product itself seems to work very well and seems extremely customizable. By the time I am done with it you will not even be able to tell it is that script I am using, not to mention once you get the hang of it the possiblities are pretty much endless. I can honestly say this was the best money I have spent on any sort of script/plugin, etc ... This year period so far. Dollar for Dollar it is right up there in the top 5% of all products I have ever purchased.

The ONLY Downside to this is the product documentation. Once he has a basic user guide written up he will be saving himself A LOT of time in the forums answering pretty basic questions and the user will be alot less frustrated. That being said, there is basic documentation up that if you take the time to go through slowly and use properly chances are you are screwing something up (I know I was) if you are still having problems setting it up.

All in all I have to give this product a rating of 98/100 .. I would repurchase it without thought for any sites where reviews of products were an important part of the site.

Excellent component, worth the money by aphils, March 17, 2007

I needed a component that would allow me to have very structured content with granular ratings, and this absolutely did the trick! I am not using it for product reviews, but rather to allow users to discuss, comment on, and rate a large and complex topic represented by a single item. Before jReviews, I was going to have to create one category per topic, then individual content items to represent the complexity, then a menu. Argh. Or, create a form, but then I wouldn't have had the rating.
So the point is, jReviews can be used -- with some deep but manageable customization -- as an advanced content management+commenting system.
Only complaint: this relies on patTemplates which is in theory good, but it is a bit hard to manage, slowing down template customization.
Finally: the support has been AWESOME. Responses are almost immediate.
This is one of those few components that is sooo worth the money.

First of all if you look up costumer service you should get Alejandro Schmeichler. but don't take my word for it, just check his forum.
Great product, cheap for what you get,extremly user friendly
highly costumizeble, i can write a book about this component
and costumer service, but i won't, just get it, it will complete your site!

Top of the list by severdia, March 10, 2007

When setting up my site, I was not enthusiastic about installing a million different components to get all this extended functionality—not to mention having to go through a painful process to upgrade when Joomla 1.5 arrives. So I add components sparingly.

I was overwhelmed when I first installed jReviews. For a newbie, the interface can be confusing, but after spending some time toying around and a few emails with the developer, I was up and running in no time. That being said, I tweaked jReviews probably further than anyone has ever done before so it was a great "stress test" for jReviews...and it passed with flying colors. The developer even incorporated some of the features I wanted for our site so other jReviews users could use them.

The support has been great and the developer, Alejandro, has been a Godsend. He's looking to imrove the user interface and adding a host of other ideas into the next version to make it even better and even more customizable. If you're looking for reviews functionality for your Joomla site, you won't find anything better than this...and, believe me, I've looked.

By they way... I find it a little ironic to be reviewing a reviewing component... :)

This product is first class. Very easy to configure and works like a charm.

The support is excellent. Any problems I have had have been quickly sorted out.

At first I shyed away from this component, because of the price. I opted to try other components that were free.

After sacrificing my hairline against the battle of bad code (and losing the war, I might add) I decided to give this a spin and downloaded the trial version.

Not only is everything in here (and even more than what I needed) to set up your very own Directory and Reviews, but the support is simply incredible.

Within minutes (yes, LITERALLY minutes) of posting a question, I had responses that were either useful or requesting more info to get to the bottom of my problem. The author even took a look at my back-end himself to save time (which it did) then explained what the problem was after solving it (again, within minutes).

The component and the support definately makes this component worth the money you pay for it.

Our firm had been waiting for this type of component for sometime now. Alejandro has created the prefect review/ratings system for Joomla. If that's not enough, his customer support goes above and beyond the call of duty. I couldn't ask for more. His communication skills are excellent and he knows his product backwards and forwards.

If you're considering this component and you're on the fence, I encourage you to send an email to him and strike up a conversation- he'll help you create the solutions you need to make this addon work for you.

I'm still a joomla newbie and so when I look for add-ons I tend to go with ones where they have good reviews for the product itself and will definitely pay for a component when I see that the support from the developer is going to be there for me.

Let me tell you right now; as a newbie I found jReviews to be easier to learn then joomla and though I'm still learning, jReviews came with video tutorials that helped me to get up and running quickly and installation was a breeze even for the joomla impaired like me! :-)

Saving the best for last is to make special note that you will find no better support from a developer than I've witnessed from Alejandro; creator or jReviews. Every question I've posted on the forum, even before I bought the component was answered promptly. I swear Alejandro must never sleep!

I even had a problem with some jReview pages not showing AFTER I installed another third party component (SEF_advance - which by the way is another good program) and Alejandro not only worked with me personally via email he actually debugged my site for me to find the problem and fix it! If that's not customer service I don't know what is!

If you're looking for a review component for your joomla website you need to look no further. If this joomla rating board worked as well as jReviews I'd be able to give jReviews and Alejandro the rating he really deserves which is a 10 out of 5 stars. ;-)

This component is really really awesome!

If you are looking for people to rate specific content items according to specific criteria, and also write reviews, nothing is even close to jReviews. It has great flexibility and functionality. You can have weighted criteria where you define which criterion is more important. It is very easy to allot criteria to different categories.

Best part is, its completely AJAX! Even the backend is! Everything is really quick and looks really good. The front end template for rating is also very attractive. There are great modules available for listing your reviews.

A must buy for all who need an extended ratings component. I just wish it were GNU/GPL...

If you're still messing around with XTD ratings, you've missed the boat. jreviews is a very fine piece of script.

I can't thank Alejandro enough. I am a PHP retard, but within 24 hours I had reviews fully configured on my site. Considering how individual a review system is, that's an utter miracle. The customer support one might receive is far above and beyond anything expected, especially considering the pittance once pays for this component. As for the current lack of full documentation... if you can't figure your way around this software without a manual, you probably can't configure your email either. I know the ROI on this investment will be days, not months. Thanks again, Alejandro! "
