This is a very easy module that let's you have the weather of all the regions available from MSNBC Weather. Just go to MSNBC Weather, get the code of your town (even very little towns are available) and add it in the administration all the towns you want separated with a comma. This module comes along with 3 small towns in a small country as example. New version changes: * only shows current temperature no matter what MSNBC gives - no more "random" effect * Cities names can be changed by user - no need to not have your town name if only the nearest one is in MSNBC Weather, or, if you want the town name in your own language.
CORRECTED: MSNBC website changed, so this version corrects the previous versions that stopped working correctly when grabbing information. At the same time data is more accurate than ever ;)
PROBLEMS: Some servers don't allow you to use file_get_contents() or access external data, so for those this module won't work.
TIPS: If you want you can change the link that accesses the MSNBC server http://weather.msn.com for a Spanish written one http://clima.msn.com that the module will still work (thanx the tip from Matias Chamullo )
NOTE: Temporarely we will have the file in our own domain, since Joomla Forge was dropped to another system and we still haven't been able to have it working in the new system.

small and graphics are nice, but nothing spectacular. it never displayed the current weather, it either said "NA -F" or it displayed the weather from the first time i installed it. there are many other options out there for a weather module to bother spending too much time getting this one to work correctly.

Excellent module, which works really well for UK locations. Far better than any other mod I've used for weather. Icons are nice and minimal, no heavy graphics.
Had a problem displaying it, but then realised I had to make cache folder writable. Worked like a dream after that!

This is what I needed for my site.
The name of the city, the temperature and a little icon with the clouds, the sun or whatever. Well done!

Upsides
This is a neat weather module as it provides basic information (city/town, weather icon/graphic and temperature) that is then clickable and opens MSN's site with more detailed information. You have the option of celcius or fahrenheit. You can also include more than one city/town. And lastly, it is great for International weather and not just the US. I have it working nicely for capital cities of Australia.
Downsides
* As MSN's URL is a necessary constant in the code, if MSN change their structure, the software breaks. Solution is to either figure out how to fix it yourself or email support. This has just happened and the programmer/s came back within days with a solution.
* Information is basic but more detailed information is available by clicking through to the external site.

I guess due to MSN changed its RSS weather feed address, this script no longer work.
I got this error since this past month or so:
Warning: file_get_contents(): HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.0 404 Not Found..
file_get_contents(http://www.msnbc.com/m/chnk/d/weather_d_src.asp?acid=IDXX0022): failed to open stream..
Anyone got same error?

This was a great module, but then one day it stops working. I suspect its MSN.
Warning: file_get_contents() [function.file-get-contents]: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 404 NotFound in /home/naples/public_html/modules/mod_jvtempo.php on line 49
I hope this gets fixed.

Ik liked the module's appearance but noticed that the icons and temperatures were wrong: sunshine during the night and moonlight during the day.
If this gets fixed, it will be a great module.

Easy to configure. Output is slim and elegant, which makes it a very versatile module you can place in a variety of locations. Only complaint I have is that MSN data isn't xhtml valid, but that's Bill Gates' fault, not the developer. Great job!

I did try a few other "fancy" weathermodules / components, but it was not what I wanted; a nice clean module. But this one does the job! Fast, easy installation, no need for subscribtions, just look for your citycode, past in the modulesetup and that's it... thanks for making it possible!
