NEW VERSION 2.0
Now with even more popup types, watermarks, image resize, manual thumbnails, language packs and much, much more!
Multithumb is more versatile than ever. In fact, it is probably one of the most versatile and advanced mambots ever written.
So what is Multithumb?
Multithumb is a multi-purpose image plugin for Joomla that can automatically create thumbnails and popups of the original images, as well as resize the full-size images or add a watermark to them. It can even scramble the images names so that people cannot guess their original non-watermark locations.
For articles shown in blog mode, it can create a link from the first image to the full article for better user navigation.
It can also create a simple photo gallery from any folder by just including one of the images from the folder.
The following popup types are supported:
- Normal popup
- Lightbox
- Slimbox
- Thickbox
- Greybox
- Thumbnail expansion
Multithumb works with both normal images and images.

This program works great. The lightbox effect is really neat for your pictures.

Easy install, great features... by bitRAKE, August 12, 2006

This was my first plugin install for Joomla and the only thing that tripped me up was having spaces in the image file names -- not allowed. Did the install manually, and put the files in the wrong directory, but that is my fault. :-D
One feature I'd like to see: only display one thumbnail in the content, and open to multiple image lightbox. Slideshows with a few files don't need to show all thumbnails, but as the number of images increase it makes more sense to provide navigation through the images.
Kind regards and thanks,

Sorry to Martin, I had mentioned here that this bot has at least one flaw but now I know it's my fault. I had choosen the Expand to Max option at backend, so the caption width will not equal the width of the thumbnail image.
Under Martin's help, I had change that option ot No and everything go well.
Great bot! Highly recommended !

maybe a bug? by fabs, July 31, 2006

There is a problem with multithumb and static content. I have static content published via a content-anywhere module and when i activate mutlithumb this content in the module which is a picture gets automatically downsized drastically without any statement put in the content...
there have been similar problems with the content-anywhere module like with azrul's jomcomment before- he solved it by offering as a statement to put into the content item to keep it from beeing processed by his comment bot- maybe u can solve the problem or offer a simillar solution.

great but at least one flaw by baijianpeng, July 31, 2006

I had noticed the thumbnail expansion function on the Joomla official forum and wanted to have it on my website too. Till today when I saw this mambot my dream became true.
You can see the effect on my website: http://www.tcmbook.net/
However, there is at least one flaw of this bot. It can not adjust the width of caption according to the width of thumbnail image. As you can see on my website, one of the articles published on July 31st contain such a picture which was captioned but the shadow background of the caption was too wide and ugly.
I suggest that limit the caption width as the same of the thumbnail image instead of the max setting in the backend.
Anyway, thank Martin for such a great bot!

A very good mambot.
By default it will make thumbnails for ALL pictures.
If that's not desired, just supply a class-name, (eg. 'MT') in the parameter entry called "Apply only to this class".
Then add 'Class="MT"' within the IMG -tag in the HTML code of your document.
