This bot allows you to deny access to your site from specified ip addresses. If user is denied from access then offline message will be displayed. After installation you will need to configurate it. For that you have to open config file /mambots/system/ipfilter.dat For more information see readme.txt.

Just what I needed. by TWDesigns, August 5, 2006

I was looking for a simple solution rather than using htaccess. This was it and worked for what I needed.

The only problem I found was the XML file had 2 instances of the .dat file which causes install to fail. After removing one of them it installed and works fine.

Thanks!

Great idea BUT by Chinaman, August 3, 2006

I am sure some will find this addition attractive in the first instance, reality tells me to look for other more effective solutions.

IP addresses being blocked from those who are "unfriendly", are likely to be changed by something smarter than knowing the last IP that tried to do something other than visit your site.

That being said, I see a possible use if it was the exact opposite - allow only from certain IP's.
Intranets, or closed sites.

But thank you for another addition to the J! community
