EventList
EventList is just that what the name would lead you to expect. It's not a calendar but an easy way to manage and present your Events for your group, company or community. EventList offers a lot features and possibilities which makes your work easier, like the Venue database, Picture resizing and much more. But also for your site visitors EventList has some additional features to offer, like a simple registration system, map service links, or the submission of new events and venues from the frontend. Additional modules are available and plugins for popular extensions like Community Builder and Joomap.

Note: The latest release for Joomla 1.0 is EventList 0.8.12

Excellent In Its Infancy by FidelGonzales, May 16, 2006
This is an excellent component still in its infancy. It integrates well with Joomla as well as Community Builder / Joomapolis and provides an excellent means for the community site to integrate greater. For multi-day events as well as well as events such as races that take place under several race promoters throughout different countries and at locations that really do not have a specific address, it sucks. For this, I am in favor of EXTCalendar, which actually has a calendar, but then again, EXT Calendar is heavy and doesn't integrate as thoroughly. I'll see what I can do to tailor Event List to my liking and wait for added features as it grows.

Best Calender & Event Comp by , May 10, 2006
Hi. Thank you for this real amazing Component.
I was looking for a Calender and Event Component. I have tried some but nothing was as good as EventList.

Great Job.

The best all around fit by mbistro, May 6, 2006
I tried all the calendar extensions for Joomla, but keep coming back to this one. I especially like the way it cross references events with locations. Another favorite feature is how it allows members of community builder to register for events. It works great for me, and I look forward to future versions for even more bells and whistles!

Great Cal by Carnifex, April 23, 2006
I've been using this calendar on my site for a month or so now, and am very pleased with it. I don't seem to have the same "It's for gigs only" view. I use it to keep track of motorcycle events on my site at http://www.delmarvamotorcycling.com and I couldn't be more pleased with it

Great component by iphoenix, April 21, 2006
This is a great component, I modified it to my needs and added a reduced admission page:

Lengthy Configuration / General Events Without Location Are Pain by FidelGonzales, April 11, 2006
This component works well but takes some configuration to get things going. For example, for every event, you must have a location configured into the system, which sucks for events that take place in foreign countries or even for general events such as birthdays. I concentrate on off-road racing and found it difficult to list an event that does not take place at a specific city. Because of this issue and the configuration involved, I chose to stick with EXTcalendar, which is far easier to use and configure. One thing in Event List's favor is the fact that it is lightweight and the Joomla search function searches the events as well.

Simple and Practical by ayman, April 8, 2006
You can also can see the LIVE DEMO of Event List at http://www.joomlaportaldemo.com.
No problems with Joomla! v1.0.8.

A good start by mijji, March 16, 2006
To be honest, this component is very gig orientated, which is both it's strength and it's downfall.

I have tried it, but discarded it due to the following:

- Not possible to have multi-day events (e.g. 2-3 day events), which seems odd for a component that want's to display gigs (I suppose the party doesn't end at midnight?)

- Forced use of locations (e.g. clubs), an option to deselect it would make it even more usefull for the rest of us.

- Either the language-file doesn't distinguish very clearly between front-end and back-end, or a lot of options are hard-coded. Didn't bother to check.

Some positive notes:
- CB integration in conjunction with AK reservations. Didn't test it, but I suppose it works
- Map integration. Clever idea.
- Potential to be one of the better calendars, especially if the customization is increased dramatically.

For music entertainment only by dynedain, March 15, 2006
Many of the titles and such are in German. An event cannot be added without assigning a predefined location. Locations are called clubs. This component is obviously designed for entertainment sites, focusing itself on performances and venues, particularily for the club scene. With a little work, it could have been made more generic or flexible for other uses, which would have made it a much better component.

looks good by k3davis, March 14, 2006
The english translation could use some work and I wasn't able to save any settings (where are the settings saved, anyway?). Clearly this is "alpha" but it has good potential.
