This content mambot/plugin takes automatic actions when Joomla! content items reach expiration date. It can archive, trash or purge your expired items, and can be configured to send email when actions are taken. Useful with newspaper-like websites(to auto-generate news archive), or in conjunction with automated content item generators, such as Phlooid's news aggregator. Can be also used (obviously) as a reminder for item expiration.
Make sure you download the latest 1.0.1 to ensure archived items can be accessed in frontend.

AutoArchive's equivalent for Joomla 1.5 is called TMJAA and is available as a separate commercial plugin

At least 15 articles a day are needed to archive on our website every day. This tool will do the job :)

Very helpful and a time saver.

Great bot; doesn't play well with ECJC by suzy, April 7, 2007

This is an excellent tool. Easy to install and configure in Joomla 1.0.12. Unfortunately, I had to uninstall it when I installed ECJC Online Shop v1.1.92.

In ECJC, upon clicking a link within the cart to product info, my site served this error:
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /export/home/webs/HSN/htdocs/mambots/content/autoarchive.php on line 47

Might there be a fix for this somewhere? I really like this bot and wish I could still use it!
