Seems poorly supported by inspired333, January 5, 2008
This product looks like reading the description on its homepage. But I took a look at the forum to ask a few questions. I then discovered many other people were asking the same questions and had received no reply, often for months.
For instance, it is meant to integrate with Mosets Tree. But it does not appear to support any v2.x release. MSTree is up to 2.0.4 as I write this, and people are still waiting in the forums over at Mambo Resources on the status of it working with 2.0.0, 2.0.3, etc.
For now I won't be buying this as it does not appear to have the minimum level of support and ongoing development I consider acceptable.

mtree ... I think not! by rotor, January 4, 2008
When I bought this program it worked well with mtree (which is what I bought it for) in fact it worked brilliantly!! Since mtree upgraded it has been as useless as tits on a bull!! I've waited patiently for the promised upgrade so that it will work with mtree v2 but nothing has happened ... go to AEC - at least you get support ...

Using on two sites by FrankA, September 11, 2007
The developer tends to email directly rather than respond on board which can be irritating and does not look so good on the board.

But I found him to be helpful if not the fastest to respond.

Once up and running things do go smoothly with no technical problems other than one with Joomfish. This is being worked on and is not overly serious.

Overall this is a solid extension that is weak in documentation and manual controls. Once you get over the mental hurdle of using the Report function for setting up manual memberships and fixing any other glitches, it is an easy to use and reliable tool.

I depend on it for income!

I have not used the click payments system, just simple subscriptions.

Good component, but no support by powwow911, August 1, 2007

This commercial component is not supported or is only supported on an ad-hoc basis. It's a complicated component to configure, and the lack of support makes this worse. There is a 14 day trial of the component, so you can see if it works for you. If you don't get it working during the trial period, don't buy it, because your calls for support will go unanswered. Check their support forum to see the response that users get.

You got to be kidding me! by visualvendetta, June 26, 2007

I spent all day just trying to get the trialware to work and it was total hell. There were about 3 manuals on how to install. Then there were configurations everywhere. And personally i don't think this product even works with joomla 1.0.12 yet. They say that it works with 1.0.10 though. After all that mess I found out I didn't even need to install all the extra mods and plugins and components that I need to manually do a php to some file on my site frontend to get it to work with mostree. then I had to zip this and that. Come on now I mean? I thought Joomla stuff was suppose to be simple and easy to install. There is like no support for this stuff also. I had to go to joomla's support forum to get somewhat of an answer but J's Forums really doesnt deal with this commercial product. It was a waste of my time. ugggg.... whole day wasted...

I want to give it a 5... but by dubdub, February 19, 2007
I've been using MamboCharge for a while now and have found it to be a most solid tool for providing subscription payments to my website. Be careful. If it doesn't do just what you want, it's likely not going to. I've had a support question on their forum for 2 weeks now without resolution.

Beware by nickdh, November 28, 2006
Watch out if you're not proficient at PHP. The Pay per click functionality does not work without extensive script modification. Unlike the other reviewers, I have been waiting for months for help on this -- still waiting...

Excellent by travlinstranger, October 15, 2006
This is an excellent piece of kit!
You need to swap a couple of the standard joomla items for mambocharge's own - but it comes with plenty of clear instructions, their site has a good support forum and the component itself gives you such a degree of control over your content & services and the ways in which you can make money from them that it is more than worth the effort - Recommended!

The best! by masoesa, August 25, 2006
I think I have tried all subcription coms. Non of them worked. All of them have their tweaks you need to know of. So I contacted Jeff Wolkove from mambo charge. He installed it without a problem. This component works and if you pay you get great support.
