JoomLeague
Hit and miss, March 15, 2008
0 of 2 people find this review helpful:

JoomLeague No manual, threadbare English-language support forum, and lots of roadblocks, puzzles and bugs (e.g. wrong days showing, mysterious frontend editing behaviour, Mootools incompatibility, forced Champions League etc, positions in tables by default).
Probably all fixable on investigation, but life is short. Sorry to say, it makes the argument rather well for commercial licensing.
This looks like it could be a wonderful extension. It's 90% there, but the last 10% is critical. Uninstall scheduled.

Page Peel Banner
Where are the docs?, December 1, 2007

Page Peel Banner Looks brilliant, but the assumption that installation is trivial and intuitive lets it down.
As has been mentioned elsewhere, a few minutes spent outlining how to use it wouldn't have hurt.
It seems reasonably straightforward if one is using the core banner manager. What if that's not the case? Even if it is, how does it work with other banner ads?

GoogleSiteSearch
 Thanks!, September 10, 2007

A clean and simple solution.
My native Joomla search wasn't working and I was getting desperate, but this little mod has saved the day.
Unlike other extensions, there's enough control to let it fit neatly in a sidebar.

myContent
Great idea, but consider a couple of tweaks, December 18, 2006

myContent As has been said, this is a blindingly obvious tool needed for any site with more than a handful of contributors.
I found that it didn't include the Archive. I think it would be better if it included such material, perhaps for reference only, since it wouldn't make sense to have these items editable.
Another difficulty I have is that it arbitrarily allows users access to create new items in all sections, even though they might have access otherwise to just one.

Versioning
 Not working, December 6, 2006

There's no documentation provided on how to use this component/bot.
The only access appears to me to be in the backend, where the component provides a list of content items. I've run several tests to change content items, using both the front end and the back end editor, and each time Versioning reports the last edit as the original, and shows no backups!

AllVideos 2.5.3 - The all-in-one media solution
But does it work with remote files?, December 6, 2006

AllVideos 2.5.3 - The all-in-one media solution This is a superb piece of work. Installs easily and works first time with files that are local to the site. (Make sure that you view the published story, and not a preview!)
But... I'm sorry to be one of the few with criticism here. I found that it didn't work on almost all of the remote audio file I tried, using the {mp3remote} tag, and in this case including the file extension.
I checked the files and the servers using Odeo, and they are functioning ok, with no hotlinking measures. There doesn't seem to be any documentation to cover this.
