phpGedView for Joomla!
 Nice job, December 8, 2007

phpGedView for Joomla! Easy to install and configure, and stops me having to validate two sets of credentials for people I want to see my phpgedview data. I would love it to be a bridge rather than a wrapper as mentioned by others, because some of the phpgedview charts just don't fit nicely into the available wrapper space (I suppose I could redesign my templates for my main Joomla site, but I really don't want to!)

Great job - recommended component for online genealogists!

Easy Gallery
Not as scary as I thought..., November 26, 2006
5 of 5 people find this review helpful:

Easy Gallery My site is a personal hobby/family&friends site, will have lots of photos of my family and I don't want the photos viewable by casual browsers. I don't need my users to be able to upload images, create content etc, so I can't comment on these features.

The installation was straightforward, configured easily, and I was creating categories and subcategories very intuitively within minutes. Haven't tried the ftp, but single file uploads are easy. The zip uploads are a bit hit and miss (tried 2, one worked, one didn't) but I'm not very experienced at this sort of thing yet.

Reiterating that point, as a complete newbie to Joomla less than a month ago, Easy Gallery has allowed me to install twice (once on my test site and play enough with to go for it on my live site), configure, organise and create 2 gallery pages in less than an afternoon.

The creator's support forum is also a good place for help.

Big thumbs up!
