Easy Gallery Random Image Module
 Random made Easy, April 13, 2007

I to use the excellent easy gallery and needed a way to display a random image on my front page. This module is just the ticket.

The idea deserves and excellent but I can't get the link to image, only link to category, to work. If this works and the module could display the image's title then I'd give this module an A++.

calDate Loved this bot from the minute I installed it. It add that something extra to an otherwise boring screen focusing viewers eyes directly at the articles. Had big surprise when a friend loaded site on IE6 pre SP1 as the whole page just floated to the top of the screen :-) The mambot and my Rocket Theme template apparently didn't agree. Several hours later and the author had modified the mambot to include and option to to turn of calpage for older browsers. Great mambot, great support!

Having tried other bridges this is by far the best. Using the a template from RocketTheme, Joomla and SMF appear and work as one. The installation is fairly straight forward and robust. Given the number of newbie mistakes I made and it still keep on ticking. By far the biggest issue has been with VirtueMart and Product Book components that simply refused to work once the Joomla files are patched but the forum support was outstanding and while the other comments here about bugs are true the team at JoomlaHacks worked bloody hard to get the bridge up and running with components used by my site (huge thanks). The integration options for the bridge are great - and I've since added CB for managing profiles and this cause no problems what so ever. And as a nice surprise, discovered several other CB plugins on the JH site that link information into the CB tabs. It might not be a click-and-go extension but does work and it's always getting better.

At first I didn't think that this extension was going to work as I could only see the available chats, but having emailed the author, quickly realised my mistake and was chatting in no time. The auto refresh is seriously cool and looks professional. And credit to the author for the quick and clear support.

Anybody who wants a chat XT - get this!!
