With all these balls up in the air, I need as little hassle as possible, and the best, easiest ways to do things.

Joomla Downloader gets a joomla install up and running for me within about 3 minutes, saving me time on the basic install, so I can focus on the fun stuff - design and modification.

I have a directory on my hard drive just for Joomla, and the downloader directory has the three files I need to FTP plus a text file with the link to the most recent version of Joomla I am using (currently 1.0.12), so that I can simply copy and paste it in when I need to.

I highly recommend this if you install Joomla sites regularly... or even if you are only installing one, for that matter.

This shoutbox code was one of those easy things. It installed quickly and was easily customizable. I put the module in right side in my sites, then added a second template for a center position for those who wanted to chat in a more determined way. It worked great in both positions.

I agree with the others that there are things that could be added, yet I find that the simplicity is very appealing, and it does the job quite well, as-is.

I have a site where the members support each other in fitness goals and weight loss, and this is a fabulous little program to give them incentives.

Not only do they receive awards for pounds or inches lost, but the members vote other members as being inspirational and supportive, and they get awards for that.

It is a fast, easy program to master, and the ways the awards can be used is pretty much limitless.

If you have a site with a community, you will probably find at least ten different ways you can use this extension.

RokMember is one of those ways.

I use it to make sure that content geared towards members is visible as soon as they log in.

In fact, combining RokGuest, RokMember and Raw Content with a quick little utility (on my Mac, I use TypeIt4Me), I can automatically set up member's only content AND warn guests they are missing out AND give them a paypal button with just a few typed characters.

Now, most of the articles in my subscription sites have a description for everyone, then when they click to read more, members see the whole thing, while guests see a warning and a way to pay now.
