ARTIO JoomSEF
    For french users, February 1, 2008 |
Just a note for french users, some versions of Artio Joomsef and also the free adaptations don't have all the non ascii character replacements needed, so here is what you need to add to the configuration.

sIFR plugin
    So simple it's brilliant, June 1, 2007 |

I had to write this my first review after testing this extension. I'd wanted to put sIFR on a site but I expected it to be a complicated affair with the flash and all.. This extension just does it all for you in the 30 seconds it takes to set it up :
1. download
2. install mambot
3. publish mambot
4. copy the block of code to the bottom of your template just before the closing body tag
5. open your site in the browser and enjoy the smooth sIFR effect on your page headings !!
Simple and efficient, what more can you ask for..
As for lacking instructions as some others have noted..there seems to be plenty of info on the developers forum (haven't needed to go down that route yet), but a quick look at the block of code gives you a few clues :
- the swf file to use for the font face (by default it's tradegothic.swf)
- the color of the text (by default it set to c64934, change to adapt to your colour scheme)
- transparent or opaque (I think this is for the background, by default it is transparent).
The mambot installs 2 swf files into your mambots/system/ folder : tradegothic.swf and vandenkeere.swf. Tradegothic is sans-serif font (like arial, verdana etc.) and vendenkeere is serif (like Times, Georgia, Garamond etc.)
So, just choose which font suits your site the best, change the color to fit and you're away !
Thankyou Adam !
