Agora
 WOW!!, November 26, 2008

Agora This was programmed by one guy?! Its amazing! Most other forums would still be beta but this one is fully functional and has TONS of features. It could use a few more features in the user management but overall Agora Forum is outstanding.

sh404SEF
Powerful but not for the faint of heart..., March 25, 2008

sh404SEF This component gives you god-like control over your site, urls, redirects, htaccess (or not) and many other things but you'd better hope it works perfectly the first time you install (which mine did) and that it doesn't cause problems later (which mine also did). My home page immediately went from +/- 6 seconds to load to almost 20 seconds. By the time I disabled sh404SEF a few weeks later, my home page load time was well over a minute. I tried clearing caches and settings for an hour - even tried reinstalling. I'll try again if I can't find a simpler alternative (all I need are human-friendly URLs) but first I'll have to go get a computer sciences degree.

Nice try, but..., June 1, 2007

I've tried this bridge on 4 different sites, 2 different hosts, and the closest I've come to success was merely screwing up the CSS and generating a few errors in the back end. You don't even want to know about the worst case - all I can say is, keep a backup of your HTML folder and database handy.

joomlaXplorer
 Unbelievable!, May 24, 2007

joomlaXplorer Where have you been all my life? (or at least for my first 5 Joomla sites!)I've experimented with a dozen different components to do everything from back up my HTML folder to change file permissions to move a site into a subfolder. This one component did them all in minutes! I love the FTP mode too!

Jombackup daily mysql backup bot
 A must-have mambot!, May 24, 2007

What a great way to add a little extra safety net to your site! The only additional feature I would like to see is the ability to set the time of the backup.

FlippingBook Joomla Gallery component
Very cool effect!, March 29, 2007

FlippingBook Joomla Gallery component I saw this component, or something very similar, a few months ago and have been looking for it ever since (there was no info on the site indicating where it was from). When I couldn't find it I figured it was a custom job. I purchased it immediately after seeing it here and am not dissapointed. It provides an attention-grabbing way to display brochures, booklets, portfolios, etc.

On my wish-list for the next version:
1. Multi-page PDF import (currently only supports JPG and Flash)
2. Automated book creation (having to add the pages one at a time is cumbersome for larger books)
3. Better file management (all book pages currently have to reside in the same folder)
4. Ability set content scaling for each book (this is especially important if you are using Flash files because the global content scaling option shrinks SWF files to fit out-of-frame objects instead of just the movie frame, so any SWF with objects extending out of frame will be too small)
5. Ability to add background music.

BUT... if you will have only a few books with limited pages, don't hesitate to get this component. It amazes all who see it for the first time!

AllVideos 2.5.3
Easy to install and use!, February 20, 2007

AllVideos 2.5.3 This extension worked perfectly after an easy install! I'm very happy with it. One thing I would like to see is a little page-level control over the videos. I have a couple of videos I want to auto-start, but its either all or none on the entire site. Overall I'm very happy with AllVideos!
