"JoomlaCloner" - backup and restore
 First rate, May 17, 2007

"JoomlaCloner" - backup and restore JoomlaCloner was too difficult for me to get working properly out of the box. But the support is second to none and almost instantaneous. Very quickly and in spite of some very dumb tricks on my part we had a large site transferred from shared hosting to a virtual server, in its entirety and with no issues (thanks to Ovidiu). This has saved days of tedious work. Well worth the money.

Acajoom News
Doesn't work in real life, March 12, 2007

Acajoom News The problem with this component is you don't know how poor it is until you try it. We bought it for sending out two lists, one of 500 people one of 9000. It all looks fine once you've set it up. But I didn't even get to the 9000 list. However much I tweaked the settings using the very poor documentation the list would stop sending at around 85 names. After that there was no easy way to try to send the rest of the list out and fix things. All you could do was keep annoying those first 85 people on the list over and over again trying to make this extremely buggy software work. In the end we gave up and went to Mailchimp instead.
This shouldn't be on sale.

Jom Comment
 Good support, March 2, 2007

Jom Comment We had problems post installation. The developer logged into our back end and fixed it. The Akismet spam detection was on without a code. Was worth the money for that kind of support alone. Works well and popular.
