Bridge works seamlessly, March 27, 2007

I've tried other bridges, none of which worked well. This bridge is terrific.

I'm a little concerned about SMF's statement that they won't be developing a bridge for Joomla 1.5 (see link) however, I would suspect that will either change over time or there'll be a hack to get it working. Hopefully, anyway. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it! :)

To get this SMF - Joomla bridge up and running right away, follow ALL of the instructions in this post (not the entire thread, just the post linked to here):

Excellent weather mod and component!, January 25, 2007

The few problems others are having seem to either be resolved or they don't apply to everyone. Farenheit's coming up (at least one said it wasn't for them), everything looks great. Not only did they work right away, they look GOOD as designed.

Confused about the key you need from Weather.com?
There's a link right in the Configuration part of the component telling you where to go. It's:
http://www.weather.com/services/xmloap.html

Go there and sign up for Weather.com's free XML feed. It's painless and takes just about a minute to do. Once you sign up, check your e-mail for your ID and Key. I don't think Weather.com explains that part well, which might be why people are confused.

Note on the developer's website in the downloads section there is the regular component, and then another file called 'com_eweather_small_pics.zip'. This file has smaller images than the standard component. You cannot install this through Install > Components. To install the smaller icons, unzip them on your computer and upload the entire SMALL folder to your components/com_eweather/images/ directory. When you go back in to configure the component, for Icon Style: 'small' should appear.

Z Weather
Terrific weather component, April 9, 2006

Z Weather ZWeather is straightforward, easy to use, highly customizable, and is seemingly bug-free. I've tried several weather mods & components with Mambo and Joomla, and this is the only one I'd recommend. Please keep up the great work!
