Hi ! I was looking for a simple calendar to display authors' birthdays and short announcements (I run a French poetry/arts site). I did not need extensive toolbars or frontend access, simply a calendar that would work right out of the box and do its job.

Easy Calendar was exactly what I needed. Installation was easy and straightforward, everything worked first time around. Modifications to the css and to the language files were simple to do and effective. I had to make one change to the php/html file to augment the number of characters of the event for display in the main calendar (found where to do that in the joomla-addons forum), again it went without any problem.

All and all, Easy Calendar does everything it claims it will do. It is a fantastic extension if you don't need anything sophisticated.

I use EasyComments for a French poetry/art site. I was looking for something simple, fast, efficient, that would blend with the decor. I found it with this component. The installation is without problem, the configuration straightforward.

Although there are some limitations (eg. you can't edit from the front end yet), it has the advantage of working with EasyGallery (another super component), providing uniformity throughout the site.

Most of all, the support is fantastic ! I had trouble with French accents which was solved within hours of posting it on the joomla-addons forum. Also, I am a neophyte, I know nothing about computing, and Adam is always there to help.

I would recommend EasyComments to anyone who wants a simple, hassle free component.

This is the best extension I have installed yet on my site. The installation went smoothly, including that of the English language, and it worked like a champ right out of the box. It looks really good, it works perfectly well.

After trying to modify a php parameter, I had a major crash - self-inflicted, I'm afraid, as I am new at all this. I wrote to the developer, described my problem. Within the hour, David presented me with a remedy which solved everything.

Easybook is great, the service is fantastic, I would recommend it to anyone !

I was looking for a very simple forum for a poetry site and thought I had found a solution...

The installation went ok. But there were lots of problems, erratic behavior in creating new topics, validating answers etc. Problems with French accents, sometimes ok, sometimes not, creating a lot of gibberish. The installation messed up the width of the middle column of the standard joomla template, pushing the right column off the screen. The logon/logoff procedure of users was also affected, i.e. although one looks logged off, one isn't.

I immediately uninstalled Nice Talk and although the procedure was successful, all the problems created with column width, log off, etc. were left behind. I may have to start all over again because I have no idea how to solve those problems.

I have nothing nice to say about Nice Talk. And although I was tempted to try the comment software, I certainly will not.
