 Mediocre product, bad support, July 9, 2008

Phil Taylor's Phil-A-Form for Joomla 1.0.x I bought Phil-A-Forms and installed it. I regret it.
The product is mediocre, you can find other free products like Fabrik that are free and much better. I had some questions that I sent to the support email and never got answer to them. Even being a paid customer, the support is really bad.
It is not expensive, but even paying that little, it is not worth as at the end you'll need to change the product when you are stuck in a technical problem.

sh404SEF If you are seriously interested to improve your rank in search engines, this is a must.
I had some issues after installation related with the .htaccess file, but thanks to the documentation available in the siliana.com website and searching in the forums, I was able to solve everything.
A big kudos for the people behind this product, it is a real jewel.

Components Lab Support Center Helpdesk

Components Lab Support Center Helpdesk It is sad to say, but I wasn't able to install and run it.
I am an experienced Joomla installed. I have installed more than 40 different extensions in the different webs I maintain.
I installed a demo of this program and the only result was to transform my web site in a blank page screen.
After some attempts to contact with the support, I was able to have a reply, asking me to send the log file of the application install. I insisted several times to get a solution, and silence was the only thing I got.
Finally, I got tired to insist, and I found the Flyspray application that suits my needs.
I think that the Component Labs people should take a better care of incidents with their own product, in order to obtain more satisfied users.

Letterman Newsletter Component

Letterman Newsletter Component Simple is beautiful. This component is simple but makes its work very well. Even for unexperienced people, it can be a breeze creating and managing Newsletters.
I recommend it completely !!
Just a note for the upgraders: Upgrading from version 1.2.2 to version 1.2.4 RC1 has been a bit of nightmare.
You can't install the new version without uninstalling the old one. And uninstalling the 1.2.2 leads to a lose of all newsletters in the system.
My trick: backup the joomla database, uninstall the 1.2.2, install the 1.2.4 RC1 and then restore the joomla database.

Developers: Please, release an upgrade file for further versions that makes live simpler for upgraders.
Anyway, many thanks for this excellent component.
