 Finally!!, November 30, 2007

ObjectClarity Fireboard Discussbot Finally after a long time the greatest discussbot for Fireboard has made it to the Joomla Extensions directory!
This bot imitates the one used on bestofjooomla.com and has lots of great functions u really do never want to miss again. Please do not compare it to any other discussbot or dicuss or comment feature that works with fireboard - THIS IS THE BEST.
Thanks Mark for finally submitting it to the grand public here on JED!
Thanks Mark!

mXcomment v1.0.8
 Really impresive!, July 10, 2007

mXcomment v1.0.8 This comment extension is really impresive and sooo beautiful to look at!
IMHO it is the best and most felxible system out there- very easy to adjust the looks to your site!
It is feature packed- more than any other system out there.
I switched from jomcomment to mxcomment!
There is no better commenting system out ther at the moment.
It worked right away and is really easy to use!

I would like it to have one jomcomment feature though:
When a new comment is submitted I would like to receive an email with three links in it where I can directly publish / unpublish / delete the comment.

Other than that it is superior to all the others!
And above all that IT IS FREE!

Deep Pockets II
I wonder what one could do?, May 19, 2007
3 of 3 people find this review helpful:

Deep Pockets II It seems this component is the next big thing... the only reason it might not YET be a real hype is that people do not know what to do with it. neither do I. We have all adjusted so much to Joomla restrictions that we hardly need anything more by now - hahaha....

That's why it would be great if such a great component had some great showcases and tutorials and examples of what can or could be done..

I would be interested for example how one could set up a multiuser blog with CommunityBuilder and DeepPockets... Is there a tab available for CB to show each users posts in his profile? Could there be an author module which links each user to his blog category?

Please provide some practical solutions or hints where to start because the possibilities seem just too overwhelming...

thx
Fabs

Phil Taylor's Tags for Joomla 1.0.x/1.5.x
Really looking forward to stable release!, May 9, 2007

Phil Taylor's Tags for Joomla 1.0.x/1.5.x This is a really great component!
It is not cheap but the ONLY REAL solution for tagging with Joomla. There are 2 more extensions that do similar tasks called TagJ and JTags of which i prefer TagJ. I use TagJ so far as Joomla Tags is not multilingual yet. I hope Phil will speed up work on this relaunch of his Tag-component and include multilingual support! Apart from that the component is really great with stylish ajax backend and easy one button patch/un-patch of core files abilitiy through the backend.

I will get my update real soon and test it out!

FireBoard Forum
Best News Ever when it comes to forums!, April 18, 2007

FireBoard Forum Fireboard 1.0 is released! WOW!
This forum looks really great! Can't believe it is based on joomlaboard! The template from the demo is amazing! This is actually the first REAL forum component for Joomla as far as I can see. I don't want to call Joomlaboard a real forum as it just looks bad which is why so many bridges were build in the past for other forums!
It would be great if some people would submit reviews comparing the best bridge solution for SMF by Joomlahacks with this forum when it comes to features and community builder integration... as far as I can see there are no CB tabs available for Fireboard yet ...is that right?

I will follow this project closely and might even abandon the Joomlahacks bridge in the project I am currently deveoping alhtough I invested quite some time to get it running. Only if Fireboard can offer most of the features of course. Closer investigation is neede in the next days.. but it looks very very promising!

So happy there is a proper integrated good looking board at last....

DSJtags
 Extensive review, January 13, 2007

This is a nice extension and works almost exactly like TagJ:
http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,1220/Itemid,35/

I would love both of those extensions to advance some more. The explication of this bot say:

"The tags link to the search, so you can find articles with the same tags."

That is not 100% correct as the bot also list articles where the keyword is in the maintext of an article and not in the tags. it would be great if those bots had an option to only do the search in the meta-tags!

So far Phil Taylors Tags solution is the only really working solution for effective tagging.

But if those two bots tagj and DSJtag include only searching the metatags they are just as useful though much simpler. But I would love to use them as they perfectly fit my needs. Moreover the meta-tags of an article can be translated and theses two bots work multilingual. that is not possible to have multilingual tags in phil taylor's tag component so far. So this the bots would be the only solution which is why i am using them on my multilingual site.

So PLEASE integrate to limmit the search on the metatags and they will be perfect!

TagJ!
 Excellent Bot!!!, January 1, 2007
2 of 2 people find this review helpful:

This bot is excellent!
It has similar function as Phil Taylor's Tags Component although not as advanced

BUT it is free
AND works with metatags
AND has multilingual capacity as metatags can be translated through joomfish!

I love it!!!

Would be great if it only showed the artciles that are tagged with the searched words and not everything through the Joomla! search function! The search should be limited to metatags...

OptimizeTables
That is amazing, December 4, 2006

For someone with no clue of mysql whatsoever this is amazing. My site has been running for about half a year now and i have sitestats component installed that creates lots of data. my db was 110mb. then i compressed all the data from bsq sitestats component via the backend of bsq sitestats components and my db was only 51mb. then i installed this little sweet bot here and ran it and suddenly my datbase was only 36mb.
That is just a great tool!
