Vemod News Mailer
 Useful, May 24, 2007

Vemod News Mailer Like istrait I've also been looking for something like this. Well done!

I managed to set it up so that not all users could send from the front end but it could have been more intuitive. It took me some time to find the section where you set the parameters which appears at the bottom of the categories list in the back end.

It seems that it does send emails sort of automatically being kicked off by the refresh of a page, if you alter the template's index.php as they suggest (also at the end of the categories section in the back end).

So it does what I want it to do pretty well and is a much needed component.

PU Database Admin If this doesn't end up as an Editor's pick I'll eat my underpants!

FireBoard Forum
Would be excellent but..., April 18, 2007

FireBoard Forum tlatest.gif does need repacking.

Also I'm experiencing problems editing categories and forums. It imported my categories from Joomlaboard OK and allowed me to create one new top-level category, but after that, if I try to edit the forums or categories it crashes with an 'out of memory' error.

This makes it a non-starter for me at the moment. But it is very much better presented than Joomlaboard, and the general quality looks good, it's obviously been written by people who know what they're doing. So I expect that the problems will be sorted out quickly and when they are, this will be the discussion board for me.
