Joomla Ajax Chat 1.0.1
 Pretty Good, August 4, 2007
1 of 2 people find this review helpful:

Joomla Ajax Chat 1.0.1 It's set up and working. Just a few quirks:

1. The text in the notification window is too light to read.
2. The Liveusers Mod that comes with it doesn't poll and update, forcing users to refresh their browser to detect new users logged in.
3. Liveusers Mod doesn't give a visual indication of those users currently in a public chat room.
4. Liveusers Mod doesn't show how many members and how many guests are online.

These are relatively minor issues that hopefully someone can address for me. But the primary functionality, private and public chatting, seems to be working great! At one point in testing I did get an error from my server host saying that I had exceeded my quota of CPU time and my web site was shut down. Luckily, I got it back up in a few minutes. I hope this isn't a problem as I get more people using it.

AJAX Shoutbox
 Works Great!, May 7, 2007

AJAX Shoutbox Only two issues for me:

1. Whenever someone posts a message, my BlastChat module that shows online user resets and all the user names disappear. A browser refresh fixes it, but it's still annoying.

2. Anyone know how to add the date and time next to the user's name so that you can tell when each shout was posted? I have the Shout Box in my content area, so I've got enough horizontal space.
