Content Links List
Simple and so needed, May 20, 2007
1 of 1 people find this review helpful:

Content Links List As I learn more and more about Joomla (and I'm amazed I got this far) I was shocked that Joomla doesn't come with something like this stock. So I went looking for something that would let me just put together a simple list of articles from a specific catagory and here it is.

Joomla's included modules all have some angle to them (won't display articles on front page, displays randomly, etc). This just gives me a simple list which I can order by date, ID, Order, etc.

Simple Image Gallery (in content items)
Get the "Pro" version, May 20, 2007

Simple Image Gallery (in content items) I tried the free "SIG" and while it worked, I had several issues (check the forum on the joomlaworks site). I loved the bot and decided to upgrade as perhaps it would fix some issues, and it did. the "pro" version is 12E (about $16 US) and it comes with several image libraries. I found that Litebox (MooFX) worked best. Plus the captions look really nice in the Pro version as well.

My 'average' vote here is for the SIG standard, I would give 'above average' rating to the pro version.

JCal Client/JCal Pro (event calendar for Joomla)
Works for me, May 11, 2007

JCal Client/JCal Pro (event calendar for Joomla) Solid component, installs easily, intuitive, professional look and feel to the backend. Not as full featured as Thyme but the tight Joomla integration and ease of use more than make up for that. Best of the Joomla calendars that I tried.

Has a search bot, and 2 modules, one a mini cal and one for "upcoming events".

Wishlist: dropdown with pre-defined event locations, click for directions.
