Tutorials Component v1.0.1 Beta 2
 argh!, May 23, 2008

Tutorials Component v1.0.1 Beta 2 This looks so promising, but...I cannot get it to work. I have tried it on several websites and all had different issues. I have written the authors and never recieved a reply. I would pay for this if it worked. I'm pretty savvy and have very few issues with joomla components, even the ones others complain about work for me.

I gave the a fair rating because it is so promising.

CJ Catalog Builder I wrote to the author to get a few questions answered and he replied within an hour. I find that incredible. He was also straight with me about the use of the component.

You need to know how to use datafeeds to use this, it is not a simple solution. The feeds need to be cleaned and formated before they can be manually imported.

You need to join each affiliate network such as SAS CJ or LS that you want to use. Then within each network you need to be approved by each individual merchant that has products you want to sell.

CJ and LS charge a setup fee to create an FTP account for you to get your feeds. I know LS is $250.

That said, I have the skills, so I'm going to try it out.

Lieke RSS

Lieke RSS Just what I was looking for. I used the RSS Feed Manager to generate the feed url I wanted to use for my own feed. Copied it into the form and it worked perfect.

One suggestion, it would be nice if we could change the icon and add descriptive text for our own feed.

RSS Feed Manager
 I'm glad I found this, June 9, 2007

I know this item is old, but I installed it and it works. Thanks to Floating Worlds comment I got it working in minutes. Although I may have been missing something, none of the other rss programs added all the content from just one section/category to a feed. This worked perfectly, I just copied the resulting feed url into a html mod I had a published it. As for the daily updating comment, my rssreader takes care of downloading the new content items.

 great job, June 6, 2007

Just wanted to let you know it works great. Your install intructions were perfect and easy to follow. Every step went as planned. Now I want to play with it and see if I can change the colors and layout a bit.
