It does what it says. A useful extension to give site privileges to certain users, especially given Joomla's weakness in this area.

MetaMod - display modules according to rules
One module to rule them all, November 5, 2007

MetaMod - display modules according to rules This is a very interesting module/extension with the ability to control module publication according to date and PHP scripting rules from within Metamod.

This gives very useful functionality to Joomla and makes it worth delving into PHP a little more to take full advantage of a well thought out extension.

I haven't found any bugs yet with limited testing.

The only things missing are to auto-unpublish Metamod if no modules are set to display and to auto publish a specific module if another named module expires, although this might be possible with PHP scripting.

Documentation is good, so you will have no trouble getting the extension up and running. The author has clearly put in a lot of time and thought into this.

Thank you for sharing this module.

JooTabs
Not so good, October 8, 2007

JooTabs Good idea, if it worked as advertised.

Poor/no instructions to get modules to display. Needed to refer to form to get ANY information in this area.

Looks like you need to duplicate modules on page to get tabs to work. Cannot get functionality to work like demo site.

PLEASE provide more information or else module is virtually unusable.

Extended Menu
 Absoultely fantastic, June 18, 2007

This is a extension with a fairly steep leaning curve that repays you many times over for the time spent.

So far, I have been able to build a drop-down suckerfish menu (with a little help from my friends), child menus directly from other menus and section/category menu items all from the same extension.

This is a truly amazing extension that you only appreciate when you work with it.
