DropdownTOC - Compact list of page links
 KILLER, September 5, 2008

DropdownTOC - Compact list of page links Just what the doctor ordered, as the old dropdown menu extensions broke due to the J1.5 update.

I use J1.5.6, and DropdownTOC works great. There are some peculiarities to keep in mind:

1) You'll likely get an language pack error on install, as most don't have the chinese language pack installed. Ignore the error.
2) The formatting is a little off, as it crowded my icons on my template. For formatting changes, go to the php file in line 193, change it to

You can use whatever styles you like, of course.

The support was top notch, even got two requested improvements in less than 24 hours, one of which included a radio dial in the backend to select a dropdown box at the bottom of pages.

Stellar!

JoomlaWorks Ultimate Content Display (UCD)
Very Fine Indeed, Especially as a Slideshow, August 18, 2007

JoomlaWorks Ultimate Content Display (UCD) I looked at many modules for use as a slideshow. Most had problems that made them unusable... even ones from the maker of this module, such as Simple Image Rotator and Header Rotator. Among the problems were javascript errors within IE, blank images, png unable to work in IE... wasted many long nights trying to find something that would work.

Although a slideshow is not the intended purpose of this module, it does it very well-- fully html customizable.

Be advised, however, that it will generate a W3C validation problem:
Line 142, Column 37: document type does not allow element "style" here.

My only other beef is that the text is a little shaky on load. A minor problem, however.
