Logos Query Manager for J! 1.5
Great if you love AJAX yet hate Javascript, February 16, 2008

Logos Query Manager for J! 1.5 I always wanted to build my own database app with a AJAX interface. The problem is, that I'm one of those developers that hates twiddling with Javascript.

This component allows you to build an application to query, filter, and update data using AJAX from the frontend. The built-in filters are a snap to use and make aggregate filtering a snap to use.

The power of this component is in it's initial ease-of-use, customization options, and modularity. Each aspect of the application can be configured easily from the default options, or tweaked into something very specfic by editing or creating files in the component's logical file structure.

Coming from DBQ, I heard the ideas tossed around for this component not too long ago. I am amazed to see a quality release within about a year of seeing that TCP was looking at integrating a powerful AJAX framework - the results are impressive and he has a lot more in store for us.

Database Query
 fantastic tool, August 3, 2006

Database Query This is an extremely powerful component that allows you to create your own applications. BUT, it isn't for those that are timid of SQL, or those that do not work through the documentation.

That said, if you take the time to learn how to use this component effectively (just like learning how to use Joomla!), you will start to realize the endless possibilites.

Excellent documentation released as of July 2006.
Excellent forum over at gmitc.biz.
Excellent component.

Thyme
The ultimate calendar, July 8, 2006
1 of 1 people find this review helpful:

Thyme This is by far the best calendar for your Joomla site. The possibilities are endless, and you can add your custom code to a great deal of the unencoded files.

We used it to create a powerful booking system. Extending its authentication files to automatically create groups and permission levels based on Joomla's groups. We were even able to integrate "booking credits" that were are in Community Builder with the calendar.

If you are looking for ultimate flexibility and something powerful, this calendar is for you.

As the others said, support is unsurpassed. The developer is exceedingly helpful and supportive.

Worth every penny, 6 out of 5 stars.

IFGallery
pricey for what you get, May 19, 2006

IFGallery i plunged 30 euro into a very simple gallery for the reason that it was simple -- but it is a little too simple. All media must be added manually and the only thing that you can configure is the color scheme and some aspects of the layout.

hopefully the developers will release new versions with more options soon.
