this component sounds really good, to bad you cannot use it unless you have mysql 4.1.1 or higher installed on the server.

I needed a module to display news without spoilers on my website. I tested all modules that where listed but this one is the only one that display's the items the same way the joomla frontpage component does... and that was just what i needed.

So if you need a second frontpage like thing, use this wonderful module...

I just installed this mambot... I am running a joomla website for the past year, and i always put the date manually in the articles because i did not like the way joomla inserted the date and author name... This mambot works great, i edited the mambot though so that the extra at the end of the string is removed so that the author and date information is on the same line as my text begins...

Great work... life safer....

You know... i am running joomla with CB for the past 2 years and i never... once thought of this... it's crazy... I installed it on my Joomla 1.0.11 installation and it work's awsome. The code inside the mambot is so simple (it just says "if the URL contains 'this' then redirect to 'that')....

I love this mambot. It is true that it does not strip many tags... but come on people if you edit the php file you can add tags easyally. I had to change it because it was filtering tags to good... it filtered the code from the joomcomment bot... but after setting the allowed tags that that other bot used... it workt just great...

so really it works, and if you need to filter more tags to allow just edit the php file... and remember this mambot DOES NOT strip tags IT ALLOWS THEM... it will strip everything in your content exept for the tags that you specify

I was using yanc for some time now, until i saw this component in the "New Extensions" pages. I think it has many functions for a component that was released a couple of days ago. The most... and i mean most wonderful feature is that when you create a new mailing list, you can select if you want to subscribe ALL the existing joomla users... so no need to import large lists anymore, because the newsletter component can use the joomla user tables...

it's just plain great.... The rest of the features are similur to yanc, with one difference that there is a sort of content tag generator, so that you can easyaly put content items inside the newsletters without knowing the ID numbers of the articles....

There a a few strange bugs though, but the developers have promised to fix them, we have to wait for 1 week.... until the news release comes out....

I installed this component on a joomla 1.0.8 installation and it went well, as the person above said, the install xml file is not correct so not every file get's installed easy to fix though (search for the .class file)

there are also a few strange bugs with multilanguage support i fixes these and am trying to contact the author.

With the bugs out of the way the component is great, it sends E-mail confirmations, to the user and the administrator or a alternate E-mail address that can be configured. The component has no real back end, everything is done using the front-end, some instructions on how to opperate the component are however on a page in the administrator back end.

am using it on the new dutch stargate community website gatenet.nl, i changed it so that it sends an mail to the user that celebrates his birthday... it works great...

Has functions to intergrate it with Community builder and mypms.... am using it on www.stargate-sg1.nl

UdelM is in my opinion better then and most inportently cheeper (cause it is free) then mypms. I bought mypms over a year ago and there is no development any longer.. so switched over to udelM. It is faster and more "edit" friendly then mypms is.. and easy to configure and maintain.. the availible module is just awsum did some modifications on it to suit my needs, this was easy because everything was well documented. just great i give it a full 5 star rating..
