CQI - CustomQuickIcons
 Fantastic, April 6, 2008

CQI - CustomQuickIcons Thank. If you try and administer your site from a PDA/Smartphone there are bits that are either a pain to get to or absolutely impossible, like modules. This makes it possible to put in icons to get to those impossible to reach places.

Bot link
 Brilliant, January 24, 2008

Does exactly what you would expect it to.

I run a news site that has to credit stories back to the original source. I have been using cut and paste from a file based on my home machine to achieve this, which limits me when away from home.

Now I just have to put in the original source in the appropriate upper and lower case that I have preset up in the bot and the link is created for me, releasing me to post stories from anywhere in the World.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

VirtueMart Shopping Cart Viewer
 Great module, December 16, 2007

VirtueMart Shopping Cart Viewer Fantastic little module that "does what it says on the can" Only takes up 2 lines so doesn't waste desktop "Real Estate"

Wish list:

Ability to specify currency symbol in the module configuration section (although it is very easy to do this in the .php file even for a PHP ignoramus like me)

Feed2Post
This is everything I want, November 24, 2007

Feed2Post Extremely easy to install and set up. If you need the online manual it is great, but to be honest this is one of those components when the online manual is really not needed it is so easy to understand.

Had a small problem to start off with, but an instant response (considering time zone are involved) cured the problem completely (I am certain it is because the absolutely gorgeous Las Leonas were involved in my particular problem, but it was ver quick regardless - too quick for me to get the "y" in(",)

I surf 30 - 40 newspapers per day for relevant stories to mirror to my site (with permission from the authors) and this is going to cut down on my work load completely.

Gracias Mario

Mad Current Event
 Very neat, November 19, 2007

Very nice simple little module that is very easy to set up and will display one event that is happening during that particular hour. You can "pre-program" up to 7 days in advance using the day of the week as the date trigger.

Wish list:
*An "actual date" dd-mm-yyyy trigger so that events can be entered weeks/months/years in advance
*A start time & date and end time & date for events that last longer than an hour or only last for a portion of an hour or even be a multi-day event. (ie a football game is 90 minutes long but if you only enter it as one event the last 30 minutes will not be displayed unless you create it as two events and then the 2nd hour reflects the game happening for 30 minutes while it is not. The Olympic Games is a 2 week event)
*Multiple simultaneous events with staggered start times. The Olympic Games has several simultaneous events that will start and end at various times within the hour. A suggested input format could be Date;Event1;Starttime1;Endtime1;Event2;starttime2;endtime2

The ability to set your own city names and GMT offset in the module setup area.

Miniature flags look good and it would be nice to be able to add your own. from the same area

Plan route with Google maps
 Must have, October 21, 2007

Plan route with Google maps I have a couple of extensions that I consider essential to any Joomla installation. This has just joined them for any business/club web site.

Simple to set up and opens up the Google Map results in a new window.

The Demo might not work if you are outside Europe as it doesn't recognise driving across water as an option, but it works perfectly in the UK and the USA, which are the only countries I have tested it in.

Brilliant and essential.

Yahoo/AltaVista/Google Translation Module
 Awesome, October 10, 2007

Yahoo/AltaVista/Google Translation Module I have a site that is in English because I don't speak other common languages, but it is an international site dealing with International hockey news. For the past 10 years I have wanted to carry the site in other languages and this does it all for me.

I know the Bablefish translations frequently leave a lot to be desired, but something is better than nothing and this Module does for me. Now to find a place to put it on the site (",)

Raf Unibutton plugin
 Fantastic, October 9, 2007
2 of 2 people find this review helpful:

Raf Unibutton plugin Absolutely brilliant!

I run a site where I have to insert the same text time after time. I normally cut and paste from a pre-made page, but this now removes that.

Create a button in your favourite graphics program to indicate what the text you need to insert is. Put it in the mambots/editors-xtd directory, edit up your mambot and there they are at the bottom of your WYSIWYG editor. Click and your text is inserted.

"Wish list" is to have more than only 6 buttons

Wicked mambot. Thank you.

This is an excellent Jobs component.

The layout of the jobs when presented on your site both in short and in detail is very clean and easy to look at and will leave a good impression of your company.

It didn't seem to work with the JoomlaFCK WYSIWYG editor, but by using the "paste text" button did the job. Changing back to the default editor sorted the problem out.

Only thing on my "Wish list" is for the Job title in the short description to link to the full job description.
