sh404SEF
The best SEF component! Simple as that., July 8, 2008

sh404SEF In the unecessarily complex area of search engine friendly URLs this component is a delight.

Worked right out of the box, no changes to .htaccess needed and I didnt have to make many changes to get the URLs looking the way I wanted. In the short term its been perfect, time will tell if it helps improve my google position but I cant see why it wouldnt.

You wont get an easier to use or more featured packed SEF component than this.

Highly Recommended.

2J News Slider - Joomla Ajax Slider
Easy to use and looks fantastic, June 25, 2008

2J News Slider - Joomla Ajax Slider Put simlply this component displays all articles from a selected joomla category in a slick sliding presentation via module and/or in your content with the mambot.

It was easy to intall and configure and I didnt need to contact support or read the provided instruction manual to get it looking the way I wanted.

I downloaded this primarily to add a featured articles ticker to my homepage which it does very well but its also very versatile and im now using the module as a photo slideshow too.

My only gripe is with the navigation panel, if your trying to present a large number of articles in a small space and want user navigation the only option is numbered selection which takes up too much space, the option to have previous/next buttons instead would have been nice.

All in all its a superb component thats very versatile and easy to use. Highly recommended.

SmoothGallery + Lightbox Joomla Mambot Ajax
Amazing plugin, stop searching and use this one!!!!, March 3, 2008

SmoothGallery + Lightbox Joomla Mambot Ajax I spent 3 hours searching for a decent gallery component/plugin and bypassed this at first.....

After downloading it was as easy as install, turn on and add {smoothgallery folder=images/} and I had a working gallery on my page.

They could do with adding the parameter list to the mambot details just for reference but other than that its spot on and you'll be hard pushed to find better looking gallery thats as easy to use!

SBD Accordion Menu
Excellent menu module, would recommend, February 21, 2008

Used this module to replace D4J Transmenu. Worked perfectly straight from the install, made some minor changes to the CSS and it fit with the design of my site nicely.

Definitely one of the better free menu modules

Sigsiu Online Business Index 2 (SOBI 2)
Great extension, superb support, November 29, 2007

Sigsiu Online Business Index 2 (SOBI 2) This is an excellent extension where almost every aspect can be customised to your needs.

As a newcomer to joomla and PHP i found the customisation a little tricky to grasp at first but the support staff and forums were incredibly friendly & helpful.

With the help of the support staff ive managed to create a superb, user managed hotel directory and am very pleased with the results.

Would highly recommend

D4J TransMenu
Good with poor support, October 21, 2007
1 of 1 people find this review helpful:

D4J TransMenu This is a great module which can be customised to fit your site perfectly but there are no help or start up guides and the forums seem to be devoid of any useful information.

As a Joomla novice it took me around 2 hours to work out exactly how to make Transmenu work but it looks superb now its finished.

For Transmenu to work you need an existing menu which has a clear menu tree (COM_Swmenumakerfree made this easy), when you've made your menu tree you need to link the transmenu module to your selected menu by using the module paramters and then unpublish the origional menu. You should now see the sliding menu on your site.

To alter the way the menu looks you need to edit the .mainlevel and .sublevel parts of your templates CSS file (near the bottom of the file with the default solarflare template)

Hope the above helps.
