"JoomlaCloner" - backup and restore
 Very helpful, October 16, 2008

"JoomlaCloner" - backup and restore I purchased this component and then after the fact decided I was better off using their "Site move service". They switched it over no problem and took care of moving my site in less than an hour. Great service and very helpful.

JoomSuite User
More headaches than it's worth, July 12, 2008

JoomSuite User This might be a good component, but I don't think I'll ever know.

The entire licensing process is much more complicated than necessary. There is now a new automated function on the web site that's an improvement but it is still a pain.

You will also need to load Ioncube which is another pain. I use GoDaddy, a major hosting company, which did not have this installed so I had to go through that headache.

I finally got the thing installed but I still get these php errors. I'm sure I could figure it out if I spent more time, but I'm tired of the whole thing. A commercial component should be more user-friendly in my view.

When I first had trouble getting the license to work I sent an email to ask for a refund but never got a response. that was a couple months ago and I never followed up.

At this point I'd say buyer beware.

Frontpage Slideshow v2: Slideshows unleashed!
 Poor support, February 24, 2008

Frontpage Slideshow v2: Slideshows unleashed! This component looks great and works pretty well too, but I have to knock it down several grades due to the support issues and delays.

The developer makes numerous promises as to specific dates for fixing bugs, adding features or releasing upgrades but he never follows through. Then he gets extremely defensive if you call him on it.

Bottom line, make sure to check the demo to make sure the product works as is before you buy it because if you wait for a fix you'll be waiting a long time.
