Dynamic gSitemap
Simply does not work., February 12, 2008

Dynamic gSitemap At the time of this writing, there are no third-party extensions that create a site map for Joomla 1.5 (without legacy mode), and I've tried them all. I had one working a month ago (Joomap, I believe), but it now throws an error.

That said, this script does not work, as indicated, for Joomla 1.5. After I downloaded it and configured the internal settings (it does not work out of the box), the result was very poor.

First, an error message indicates that the varialbe mosConfig_offset_user is undefined. Second, none of the URLs listed on the site index page are valid pages. In fact, they look like listings for Joomla 1.0.x.

Content Item Module
 A MUST HAVE!, December 19, 2007

Content Item Module With the exception of having to fix a line of code (as it is still an alpha at the time, this is a bit understandable), I just could not imagine having a Joomla site without this module. It seems like a no-brainer that something like this would be a part of the Joomla core. It's such a simple thing, but I just did not see anything else out there that does this: allow you to put content/category/section items in a module. Anyhow, I highly recommend this module as a necessity for any Joomla Web site.

Keyword Density - Content Search Plugin
On the right track, BUT..., December 4, 2007
1 of 1 people find this review helpful:

Keyword Density - Content Search Plugin I agree that Joomla's search functionality leaves a LOT to be desired, but I cannot recommend the Keyword Density plugin at this time (12/04/2007) for the same reason: usability.

The search results work just fine, showing your pages sorted by Keyword Density. However, the problem is that the select box for sorting your results no longer works. You have no choice but to order by Keyword Density (as it overrides any other possibility). Thus, you have a useless select box on your screen serving no purpose.

Either the ordering select box would have to be removed (not a good solution) or the ordering box should be changed to offer Keyword Density as just another option. Also, it would be more intuitive if you can offer the same search mechanism for Web Links, Contacts, etc.

I'm not sure whether or not these are design problems that can easily be addressed by the author of this plugin, but the usability problems that it poses prevents me from using this on my Web site.

Perhaps a future version may remedy this problem.
