DOCman
Love this component - just want one thing - RSS feed, March 12, 2008
1 of 1 people find this review helpful:

DOCman I tried all the document handling components before settling on DocMan about a year ago.

Now we have more than 2500 documents listed and not a problem.

Version 1.4 offers some great additional features, but would love to have RSS feed available.

We have several libraries that need to be informed each time we add a document. Having the ability to provide a feed of all new documents would be fantastic.

Please, please add this important feature and keep up the great work - there are many grateful people out here.

Acajoom PRO
 A very professional product, February 14, 2008

Acajoom PRO We have been using Acajoom Pro for the past year and find it to be an excellent and easy-to-use product.

We currently run 4 newsletters (with more to come) that are each administered by different staff.

Training to use this product takes less than half an hour and all those staff involved have remarked how simple it is to use.

Well done to all at Acajoom.

PS: One very useful feature would be the ability to pre-filter sections and categories as we literally have 1,000 of pages of content.

Mosets Hot Property
So much potential, so little support, October 25, 2007
3 of 3 people find this review helpful:

Mosets Hot Property I have been using Hot Property for some time now and there have been few, if any, upgrades.

Mosets has released an availability extension which only goes partway to solving the rental solution. It's OK showing the availability, but customers need to be able to reserve property and pay for the rental online.

I have seen no plans to make the product fully functional by adding a customer payment module. I suspect one will be announced someday and we will have to buy that as another extra.

I have tried using the forum for many feature requests/suggestions/improvements, but like others have reported, the response has been a deafening silence.

It is vital that if you charge for a product, your customers get good support - I have had much better support from developers of non-commercial products.

Please guys - lift your game a little.

Vemod News Mailer
 Still a great product . . . . . . but just a couple of points, October 16, 2007
1 of 1 people find this review helpful:

Vemod News Mailer Really like the latest version and particularly the bulk add facility.

However, it would be a very useful addition to be able to import an email list that isn't already part of the Joomla Users - eg, I have to import a list of media outlets so they can receive regular news updates by email. I have a list of names and email addresses as a *.csv file and it would be great to be able to bulk import the list.

Second point - and no biggie - why not use the built-in Joomla! facility of displaying either title, introduction or full story rather than having to arbitrarily choose a cut-off point of XXX characters. This means that news could be handled more effectively and negates the risk of having a word or sentence truncated.

Just thought these would be useful points Thomas.

Keep up the great work.

Egxact Revision Manager - Version Control
Love this component, August 9, 2007

Egxact Revision Manager - Version Control I really love this component and it's something that has been missing in Joomla!

I have a couple of suggestions:

1. The ability to delete a version would be good as it is easy to create more than one version if you press the save button again in error - even if you haven't made a change.

2. The ability to set a forward publishing date for a new version. This is particularly useful if, for example, some new regulations come into force on a particular day and you have prepared the changes ahead of time.

Keep up the great work guys - this is the power of the Joomla! community.

Cheers and thanks, David ;-)

RSform! - Form Management Component (J1.5 also)
 Perfect for Not-For-Profit-Organisations, June 28, 2007

RSform! - Form Management Component (J1.5 also) I have been setting up a new website for the Perth Blues Club, which is a not-for-profit-organisation in Western Australia.

I have been looking for a good form generator and after experiencing Phil T's form component on my work website, I decided to find something more user-friendly and found Forme (now called RSform). It's very straightforward, works straight our of the box and does everything it says it will.

At just $10 this is perfect for NFPOs who need to watch the $s.

Thanks guys and keep up the great work. The site will be online next month and shortly after our AGM (August) we will run a member survey. RSform will be perfect for the job.

Cheers, David (spinfx)

Great component/ module - one extra feature would be nice, July 14, 2006
1 of 1 people find this review helpful:

I have installed this on my soon-to-be-released site and it's great. Works well and very smoothly.

However, I'm not sure why it has categories. Don't get me wrong - categories is a great idea, but the component/module appears to make no use of this feature. Instead, all the terms in all the cetegories appear across the entire site.

We have various sets of glossary terms (some for species names of plants and animals, some for fire management, other scientific terms) all of which are relevent to certain parts of the site.

It would be very useful to be able to configure the Glossary categories in such a way that the terms for that category only appear in the Joomla Sections/categories that are relevant. For example, the fire terms should only appear in the content under the Fire Management category.

Would love to see this feature is anyone has any ideas.

Cheers, David
