eWeather
This is a fantastic tool but..., May 13, 2008

eWeather I have really enjoyed using this tool! I haven't had any issues with it till Weather.com revised their terms of use policy and started to require different a differently formatted xml request address. After trying to get intouch with the email address above and finally after the site came back up I could not get a response on this issue.

I wound up making a few changes on my own to the website and it is working again.

Community Builder
 A great add-on...for J1.0.x!, March 13, 2008

Community Builder This is a wonderful add-on for versions of Joomla prior to 1.5 but it is not truly compatible with J1.5.x legacy mode or not. I have spent considerable time pouring through the forums at Joomlapolis and tinkering with the component and modules as best I can and have not been able to get it to work reliably with j1.5. At best, it crashed my site only about 60% of the time.

The bottom line is that version 1.1 of CB is NOT as compatible with J1.5 as it's description would have you believe.

I will wait for both the native version of CB AND a migrator tool before I consider migrating my site.

Joomla Amber Alert
Good module but..., February 14, 2008

Joomla Amber Alert I like the module in that it is small and does not use the hosting server for a relay to the CodeAmber website. I also like that it is real time, which means that if you left the Powderworks homepage up on your computer and an Amber Alert was activated, you would not have to refresh the screen to get the information.

However, I don't like that you can't set it for your (customizable per user on the site) area. I am also not fond of the really long advertisement to get others to add it to their own sites. I don't mind the ad itself, but rather the excessive length of it. It becomes irritating and anything irritating becomes ignored and thereby useless.
