How to display feeds???, March 11, 2008 |

I wanted a feed reader to display the feeds on a page, along with other content - a normal page in other words. Not in a module, I have a fine one for that. I need a feed reader that puts it on the page. This is a component (though like many the zip name is faulty and does not say that - it should say "com_rssfactory") so it should allow you to display feed properly and not just in a module??
BUT NOWHERE is there any info at all on WHERE or HOW to display the feeds. In the module maybe? Sure, but I don't want that - and this is a component anyway, it should do more than. No info on their site or in the component configs, or anywhere.
Maybe you can do a link to the component - BUT WHY NOT SAY SO??
Any way I need to display the feeds on a page with other content - a normal page. HOW TO DO IT???

Looks great, could be better, February 17, 2008 |
This module does NOT do what you think it will, i.e. display search keywords that traffic lands on your site with. It shows what searches are done INSIDE your site, in the search box. I'd guess that 99% of people are going to be disappointed here.
Doesn't matter that it's commercial, it's dirt cheap anyway - but the developer should make it clear that it does not display search traffic. That would be excellent if he could do that - I'd pay 5 times more for that.
The module looks excellent when you do some CSS, give it a bg image etc. Pity it doesn't do what you think. Would need a component anyway, a simple module couldn't get data from logs or wherever.
What you have to do is go to your server stats (AWstats maybe), once a week, and get the site searches - paste them into a list - go to a searchbox in Joomla and paste them in one by one, clicking how many times the search traffic came. That's the only way to do it at the moment - unless you know better...
