Vemod News Mailer
Does what it says, A+++++++, March 17, 2008

Vemod News Mailer Installs with no problem on j1.5, excellent support, and isnt too complicated. Very nice features, being able to output a module into the sidebar of a newsletter is a nice feature. I also like that I can send them anytime I feel, or let the component handle it on a day of the week I put in.

I found one little bug, and the support was awesome, I had a patch the next day. If you use this module, definitely buy the guy a latte macchiato!

Very glad I found this module, the only other one that does similar things was $123 american! The only thing that could make it better would be a Community Builder plugin, but hey I aint complaining!

FireBoard Forum
So far so Great!, February 25, 2008

FireBoard Forum The one question I had is how this software laid out with my template, would I have to make a template for this, put a wrapper around it? How would it work with my sites users.

I made a site for a small group (A fire company) and the forum will be private for about 60 users.

I made the leap and installed this software in 2 minutes after a slight permissions issue (my servers fault) but Fireboard told me what went wrong and what I had to fix (move a couple image files)

I went right to components in j1.5 and it was there and worked great, went in and put a menu item to it and it was on my site. I changed the color to what I wanted and thats it.

It picks up my joomla users automatically when they post to the forum and uses the joomla login.
