SmartFormer 2.1 (J1.0, J1.5, J1.5 Legacy)
 Doesn't work, March 31, 2008

SmartFormer 2.1 (J1.0, J1.5, J1.5 Legacy) I'm waiting to hear from the developer, but so far, this component was a waste of $25 for me. The layout system turned out to be messy, and at any point in time one of my static text boxes will get a border around it. The only way I found to remove it was to delete the item and create a new one.

There also doesn't seem to be a way to make the form longer than the layout area, and so far I can't get the submit button to do ANYTHING.

I'd steer clear if you need something that just works.

RSform! - Form Management Component (J1.5 also)
Better than Performs, February 19, 2008

RSform! - Form Management Component (J1.5 also) I had been looking for a decent forms component for a while. Previously I used performs, but found it lacking. Though RSForm has lots more detail which could get confusing, it was nice to be able to do things like add a few break tags after the form (in the provided code box, right in the component) to make sure there was a bit of room below the component. I was even able to figure out how to add space between form items by editing the code in the Field Style box (in this case, I added a break tag right before the {field} item to move my submit button down a bit).

I'm likely going to be going with RSform! for my client joomla sites in the future.
