JACLPlus
Perfect for a demo site, November 29, 2006
4 of 5 people find this review helpful:

So far I have just installed this on a local server and installation was a breeze.

After spending half an hour playing with it I was able to create a new group to allow backend access only to the component which I want to demo. The rest of the Joomla backend functions are disabled.

So JACLPlus is not only for frontend control, but you can also control access individually to all backend functions.

RequestFilter
Messes up urls in SMF bridge by Joomlahacks, October 29, 2006

My users kept complaining about not being able to post on the forum and it was always when they wanted to include a url. This bot kills the post submission when it finds "http" is part of the message.

I can focus on providing support now and not explaining to users why they cannot post.

Multithumb
Great functionality! Only couple of suggestions, October 18, 2006

Multithumb This is truly a great mambot. Easy to use and flexible given that you can use the global settings or even set different thumb settings through the use of image alt and title attributes.

The only recommendations I have is to include the thumb size as an individual thumb setting, instead of using the global sizes for all thumbs. Perhpaps it could be incorporated like this: mt_lightbox-300-200:

Also, even though you can assign/exclude categories where you want to use the bot, the javascript libraries still load for all content which could create conflict with other extensions.

Again, overall this is a great applications. Keep up the great work.
