I am in the process of creating a large business directory style site. Very similar to the likes of yellow pages and other directories. I thought that having a radius search would really compliment my site and create a better system for users where they could say i am looking for McDonalds that is x Kilometers from (my suburb). Currently the size of my database sits at around 1 - 2 million items and i have to say that this component functions brilliantly on my shared web hosting enviroment. As does Sobi2. One thing to note is however that with any large site tweaking the mysql config becomes important and this is where you really need to move into VPS or dedicated servers to allow the server to cache items and provide a better user experience for others.

I was extremely impressed with this add-on and would happily recommend it to anyone!

jReviews is one of the best components i have ever brought for my Joomla Based site. Right out of the box its features were amazing... The component allows easy customization to your site setup through Directory --> Section --> Category structure, and if you have other components on your site, such as Sobi2, the jReviews Everywhere add-on will link the functionality of jReviews to that of Sobi2.

In addition to the fantastic component provided, which in my opinion is simple, efficient and feature packed. The support provided is in my opinion top notch. The developer responds to questions very quickly, and the forums are very active with many users helping each other.

If you are after a review system of sorts, a directory like component. Then jReviews is for you!

Whilst site administrators have to go to the effort of setting up their sites to be crawled by the likes of google and other search engines. This component takes site promotion one step further, allowing users to import their address books from quite a few free web based email services as well as outlook and other computer based accounts. Doing this allows site administrators to empower their users to promote their own site, saving them time and creating a better promoted site. The component has a wide range of features, from 'Personal Namecards' through to awarding users karma points for inviting members.

If you are building a community site, this is an essential!

Community builder in my opinion is an essential addon component to Joomla for any community based site, giving users the ability to create their own 'personal profiles' based on fields administrators can set up. The forums are very active and the component itself is simple to use and set up. Whilst like in any component there are flaws, this one really extends the community nature of your site, by giving users their own personal space. And another testimonial to the component or package is the number of plug-ins available to community builder made my third party developers.... if it wasn't that good, you would not see this many plugins

Sobi2, is most probobly one of the best directory style components out there at the moment. Perfect for any category based listings system, such as yellow pages style directories. The ability to have an unlimited number of categories is fantastic, instead of being tied into the section / category system of Joomla, which might suffice for normal sites, but falls apart when you look at multiple level directories. The modular nature of the component, through plugins available makes adding extra features such as Radius Search, or Featured listings very simple, bringing further options to your site.

I would highly reccomend this component to anyone wanting to start a business directory.

This component or utility is an essential time saving addition to the Joomla package. I run a site with both Joomla & jReviews, and had to import a large amount of content into my site, before this component i had to play around with phpmyadmin, match tables and column names and it was just frustrating and time consuming. This component fixes all of that up, whilst it works well for jReviews, it also works outside of it as well, so is useful for those who want to add alot of content to their joomla site.

In terms of jReviews, that is where it gets even better. The component gives you the ability to 'map' csv headers to database fields, so you can say i want CSV header 'data-title' to be mapped to title, or title-alias, this is all done through an easy to use drop down menu. The component even allows you to save profiles. Overall i was very impressed with this component, it is a very valuable tool to my Joomla, and my jReviews based sites!
