Ulti Clocks
 Great module!, September 13, 2008

Ulti Clocks This is a great module for what I'm using it for- adding a clock to the Schedule page of an Internet radio station's site so that people in other time zones/countries don't have to do mental arithmetic to be able to suss the schedule.

I'd have rated it Excellent except that none of the digital clocks would show up on the site's dark, transparent-background template (Joomlastadt Nature for Joomla 1.5.x). Still, one of the analog clocks happens to blend well with the template's color scheme, so it'll do just fine. Younger people will just have to figure out how to read an analog clock. :)

I love the way all clock's sizes can be set in the module parameters. I wish all Flash-based modules offered that sort of control.

Strong work!

JSkyRadio
 Good, but..., July 22, 2008

JSkyRadio This module does what it promises: delivers a Joomla 1.0.x-compatible module that contains a Flash Shockwave media player capable of playing your Shoutcast radio stream. It works on all computer/browser platforms that we've tested it on (except IE7 and above- see below) and is codec-independent. It comes with 9 Winamp-like player skins.

We originally had problems where PHP warning messages were being displayed. The programmer FTPd into our site and corrected this. However, we later discovered a problem that the page containing the module fails to load in IE7 and have had no response from the programmer regarding correcting that. It has to do with the way some javascript code is being called within the module's main PHP file, I believe. This really should be corrected, as we're paying for this module.

Also the skins are all too large to fit properly in the usual left or right module positions. Smaller skins should be included, but they wanted $250 to create a custom skin instead. I'm working around this issue by altering the skin size parameters in the PHP code to only show a portion of a given player skin, but it's not a very elegant solution.

If you know enough PHP to correct the IE7 issue, and have a template that allows large modules, this module is a good solution for streaming Shoutcast to any user regardless of their computer or browser.

ArtForms

ArtForms Installation was a breeze, and then I went on to create a custom Contact Me form within the hour without even reading the documentation!

Tip #1: beware of validating added fields. When in doubt, leave them unvalidated or else they may not work.

Tip #2: when editing fields on an existing form be sure to click the "Show All" icon to the right of Form Fields in the upper left of the Fields tab's page.
