MamboWiki
 Disappointingly Dated, April 10, 2008
1 of 1 people find this review helpful:

I installed JoomlaWiki (the Joomla 1.5 version of MamboWiki). It installed quickly, easily, and without problems. Unfortunately it has been a bit of a struggle since then.

I wanted to customize MediaWiki a fair bit, so I started to read through some documentation on the official MediaWiki site. I became frustrated when the documentation wasn’t always matching up to what I was seeing in my installation. The fact that much of the customization is at code level also didn't help the situation.

Anyway, I came to discover that JoomlaWiki is using a version of MediaWiki that is over 2 years old (about 9 versions old). With this being a customized version of MediaWiki, I can understand it being a version or two behind. The fact that it is that 9 versions old is disappointing.

Never-the-less, I still give it a rating of "Good". I realize this is a free project and I appreciate the effort. I just hope that it gets an update in the near future.
