XTypo CSS Editor Buttons Pack - Version 1.2
 Hugely useful, August 11, 2008

XTypo CSS Editor Buttons Pack - Version 1.2 This is a big timesaver in JCE on our 1.0 site. A most useful addition.

I was wondering if the author has any plans to come out with a 1.5 native version. It would be a real shame if there wasn't something like this for 1.5.

sh404SEF
After a few problems in the beginning..., July 24, 2008

sh404SEF This component is now stable, secure, easy to use and everything we had long looked for, for our sites. If you read the instructions and follow them with reasonable care, and you don't go particularly crazy with settings, this sh404sef will do exactly what it says it will do. Of course, there is always room for improvements, like more plugins to extend functionality, but that is a component of time and patience.

I teach a class in Joomla! Webmastering at a Adult continuing school and I recommend this component to my students without hesitation.

Joomla Author Pages.
 Well, I tried it., June 20, 2008

Joomla Author Pages. First, I discovered that it has the standard jom_ database prefix hardcoded in. We do not use that prefix as an extra security measure. I went in and tried to edit to our prefix wherever I could find it, but it still would not successfully install. Oh well, somedays you eat the bear...

I gave this two stars because it still has promise down the road, as the developer matures this package.

I look forward to that. It is really something we can use.

Phil Taylor's Tags for Joomla 1.0.x/1.5.x
Both Tags and Phil's Support Well Worth the Expense., May 15, 2008

Phil Taylor's Tags for Joomla 1.0.x/1.5.x We use Joomla Tags and we have been using some form of Phil's tagging software just about since the beginning. The software from Phil is always solid and the least of our worries and Phil's support is always very responsive and timely in extremis.

Let me put it this way: The whole experience of using Phil's software and support would be a bargain at twice the price.

It is well worth paying a per site fee.
