Banner Slider
 Thank you!, May 27, 2008

Banner Slider After having tried another ad rotator for Joomla 1.5 which frankly did not work, it was refreshing to try this one. Don't have much experience with it yet, but it seems to do what it says on the tin. And it validates, except for one small thing: no ALT text for the image. If you could fix it to take the alt text from the banner and show it, it would be awesome!

X-Banner
 Promising, November 14, 2007

X-Banner Good idea, looks promising. Unfortunately the selection of client id's to show does not work. It cycles through all the pictures in the banner directory. This makes it almost useless before this is sorted out, because all your banners would have to be the same size.

Very slick gallery, August 29, 2007
1 of 1 people find this review helpful:

This is one of the best and easiest galleries I have tried. I can't give it top score however, because it has one drawback in my opinion: It can't show an image description.

I was quite confused because the documentation talks about a "comment feature" that you get by installing the accompanying component. Only I could not for the life of me figure out how to add a comment. I thought this would add a description to each image.

As it turns out, it almost does. The comment feature was enabled when I first disabled, then enabled the feature in the plugin backend. It now becomes possible to add a comment from the FRONT END via the "Write Comment" link in the pop-up field under the picture. These comments can later be edited in the component back-end. The user has to click the comments link to see the comments.
A good enhancement would be an option to always show the first comment by default. Then this would be a top gallery!

TMEdit
Avoid if you have joomla in a subdir, July 25, 2007

TMEdit It looks nice, but it has a problem when your joomla is not installed in the root. The image insert dialog pops under the browser instead of above and it goes automatically to the images folder of the root installation. So for a Joomla installation in a subdirectory you just can't get to the pictures.

FlexAdvert
 confusing, May 1, 2007

Unfortunately after much trying I just had to give this one up. Would have been great if it worked. There is not much help or instructions on how to set this up. I never managed to get my advert to a state where it was classed as "finished", and there is no explanation of what this means. I tried everything I could think of, but sorry, I think this needs more work.

Ads Ticker
 Oh, yes!, May 1, 2007

Ads Ticker This module is easy to install, and it just works! I've been playing around with other advert modules, but they do not seem to cater well for the very common situation today where you just get the HTML code for the advert. Here you just paste it in and it works brilliantly.

Slick RSS
 Just Works, January 23, 2007

Slick RSS Does exactly what it says on the tin. Very easy to configure even for a novice. No problems to report so far. The tooltips are an especially nice feature.
