ActiveSWFbot
 simple, elegant, November 2, 2007
1 of 1 people find this review helpful:

ActiveSWFbot This plugin is so easy to use. Don't forget to add a slash at the front of your relative path- that was my only confusion. i would suggest to the author to include an example in the plugin description that would show this, or not require that first slash.

Joomla Featured Articles Module
 a few suggestions, October 29, 2007
1 of 2 people find this review helpful:

Joomla Featured Articles Module This is a great idea for a module, and so far seems weel executed. That said, i have some suggestions for it to be better.

i wish i didn't have to type parenthesis around the content item ID list, to be consistent with the functionality of the built-in "Latest News" module.

i'm disappointed that i can't add a module class suffix like i can for most modules. i'm glad this module is built to be CSS-aware, but i don't want to add CSS as parameters- i want it to pull from my theme. The template chooser module, for example, is not very compatible with this module because this module's style is specified in the module parameters.

Also, i would prefer if the div and table versions were included in one release, with a parameter to select the variation.

Smooth Gallery 1.01 (portfolio)
simple and well supported, May 24, 2007

Smooth Gallery 1.01 (portfolio) i was looking for a simple image slideshow, no frills. i was able to achieve that easily with this easily configurable module. i had one display issue (which turned out to be related to my template, not the module) and the developer responded to my email in minutes.

good idea, incomplete, November 30, 2006

There is definately room for improvement over the default Contacts component, and this is a step in the right direction. Some criticisms: regardingthe blog-style layout of contacts (three menus can be downloaded separately), it shows the "Back" link after each contact, even with "Back button" set to "hide" in the parameters. There are also no parameters for ordering.

Incomplete, but a good effort.

works without a hitch, great support, November 14, 2006

Not only does this tool do exactly what it says, of all the user import tools, this was the easiest to implement. To top it off, the author has been very helpful in helping me make a modification i needed.

looks nice but not developed, August 10, 2006

i'm so bummed about because i really like the results it can produce (see http://www.cafedestiel.nl/cms/index.php?option=com_heximage). But it's just not intuitive (i had a hard time figuring out how to even add an image), and as others have said, production seems to have stopped, which is a bummer because there are bugs and undeveloped features.

Rapid Recipe
good support and customization, requires ionCube, August 9, 2006

This is good component with readily available customer support. There are directions on the website for customizing the language file, CSS, and parameters. I was able to strip it down and arrange it how i wanted, with help from customer support. The componenet is encrypted and needs the latest ionCube engine loaded on your server although I didn't know that at the time of purchase. Fortunately the modules are not encrypted and there are enough parameters in the component to customize it well anyway.
