It's not bad at all!!, July 27, 2008

I read the reviews and was hesitant especially because there doesn't appear to be any documentation. But I spent about 4 minutes installing and playing with it and works great. It's a simple to use blogging component. Thanks.

Ozio Gallery
 Works great..., July 11, 2008

Ozio Gallery This is a great photo tool. I had issues but it turns out they were template issues. If this doesn't work check it on the Beez Template to verify it's really not working. Because once I realized that it was my template, getting it to work was easy. My only request is that it's actually a bit hard to get to the english instructions. But otherwise really great.

How to install - step by step, June 18, 2008

Ok. I haven't used the Joomlawiki but everyone says once it's installed it's great and so far it seems that way. Before I forget I wanted to explain how to get it installed on your system if you are using a shared hosting solution.
The problem is that the file is too big for the default php.ini allowance. So it times out. There are instructions but they were too vague and several others had the same problem as me - so here you go.
1. Download the component onto your hard drive.
2. Unzip the file completely.
3. Using filezilla or other FTP solution upload all the files from the unzipping - one folder away from your htdocs/[folder]. For example, name it tempinstall/ or whatever you want.
4. Go to your Help --> System info tab in your Joomla backend
5. Click n Configuration file.
6. Copy (to paste) the entire $log_path except for the "logs" file at the end
7. Now go to install components under Extensions --> install/uninstall
8. Paste the path in the "Install from Directory" field
9. At the end add your tempinstall folder or whatever name you put. NOTHING ELSE. You do not need to reference any other particular file.
10. Hit install and VIOLA! it's installed.
-
Now you need to go to Components --> Joomlawiki --> Setup to set it up.
- Good luck.

Joomla Popin Window
Good and useful plugin, June 9, 2008

Joomla Popin Window This is a pretty well put together plugin. The support was great and the programmer was quick to answer my questions, including three times in one day!
I used Joomla 1.5 and I would only add the following instructions to those like me, who sometimes don't see the obvious!
-
1. Install the plug in, like a normal plugin.
2. Go to the Plug in and within the HTML area for code - put THERE what text or images you want to have as a pop up (or popin!).
3. Create an Article, put as the article "{popin}" - just {popin} not the quotes - publish the article to the page you want the popup to occur.
4. Ensure that the Article is published to a working module position.
5. Voila! It should work perfectly.
-
It works great for users. If you are developing it and rechecking and rechecking, it sometimes seems to lose count so to speak and I would reboot your computer if something isn't changing like you think it should.
-
Five stars otherwise, thanks.
