no documentation, badly laid out, strangely useless, March 8, 2007

Well, the description makes this sound fantastic, but using it is a complete pain... I tried the demo on their site and it made completely useless component and module which just showed ugly green and yellow boxes on my site.
This is all talk and no trousers.

works fine, but no full URLs on images, March 7, 2007

great, but when you render HTML, it puts the images in without full addresses of the image locations, which is a problem when putting this through feedburner...

Phil Taylor's Phil-A-Form for Joomla 1.0.x
 VERY IMPRESSIVE!, February 5, 2007

Phil Taylor's Phil-A-Form for Joomla 1.0.x This is fantastic. Very easy to install, videos are clear to help you setting up.
Does everything I needed it to - saves to a database, exports to CSV and emails you the results!
A couple of suggestions I made in the forums have been answered or have gone into the planned wishlist for the next version - I love it!
Also very easy to order - PayPal and then it's emailed to you. You get updates for life and can redownload it any time you like.
Many thanks!

VirtueMart
WOW - I've spent hours using this today and I LOVE IT!, December 12, 2006

VirtueMart Fantastic, hats off to the developers!
This is a fully featured professional-standard ecommerce solution IMHO.
Only thing I had trouble getting my head around is the taxes, virtual tax, displaying and discounting tax, but if you read hte forums there are work-arounds and explanations.
the installation manual is probably the best I have ever read - SO clear and easy to follow - you won't have any problems installing VM if you follow the simple instructions - they don't assume any particularly technical knowledge.
Creating products and building the shop was a pleasure, and the range of modules which are included is fantastic, although the modules' layouts are pretty tacky-looking. I WISH this component relied more on CSS rather than the inline styling - we should be able to easily choose product title font sizes etc.
It is also not clear how to test the whole system from the outset - example dummy data would be helpful, and somewhere to point and test the payment methods would be appreciated. I for one have no ide how we are supposed to use the PayPal IPN testing page :S
I am generally VERY IMPRESSED and I look forward to this just getting better and better! My clients are going to LOVE it!

Plugin Googlemaps
VERY NICE - if only I could use it on the contacts pages..., December 6, 2006

Plugin Googlemaps Well this is SUPER easy to use - I LOVE the way you can set global parameters for your site, and then choose specific paramters for each instance of the maps, which overrides the global settings - very cool.
I wish I could use this on the contacts page - seems a logical place to put it!
I wonder if some clever person can integrate driving instructions, linking to a google page?
Many thanks, looking forward to being able to use on contacts page.

Website Validators Tool
 WOW!, December 6, 2006

Website Validators Tool I've never tried an admin module before - this was a synch to install, easy to activate (explains in big letters when you install, and takes seconds!) and is a DREAM to use and update...
WELL DONE!!!

db8 Site Last Modified v2.1
SUPER SIMPLE - does what it says on the tin!, December 5, 2006

db8 Site Last Modified v2.1 Well, this is awesome - it does exactly what I was looking for, and is very configurable using the date formats I found here (just omit the ' and ' at start and end):
http://www.dan.co.uk/mysql-date-format/
Shame you cannot remove completely the text before the date - seeing as any module can display the title it would be nice to have the option to *only* show the date in the module, and use the title to describe that this is the last modified date.
Thanks though for a great, and useful module.

Multithumb
 WOW - fantastic!, December 2, 2006

Multithumb This is simply astounding - the automatic captions below images, and CSS styling you can therefore do is out of this world! So easy to configure, this plugin works like a dream, automatically!

The only thing I would like to see, is it working in the editor - I use JCE for creating and editing content, and this plugin means you put the image in the article, full size, which means horrible layout while editing. Once published, on the live site it shows as a thumbnail at teh size you choose which is perfect :)

Thank you. Thank you. Rock on :)

Easy Gallery
Works fine, zip upload is nice, shame about layout, November 22, 2006

Easy Gallery The zip upload is excellent - simply upload a zip from the joomla backend and hey presto the gallery is made!

The one thing I hate is the layout - you cannot seem to order the images, name them or have them in a smart layout of rows and columns unless they are all identical size.

I have no idea how to use the FTP settings - it's very unclear and I cannot find any instructions so I'll stick to zip uploading - easier for my clients anyway.

If only you could call a "category" an "album" or "gallery" in this...

Raw Content Integration
 Works great!, October 22, 2006

This is fantastic, although I wish I could access it from the frontend in order to create new code etc.
Does what it says on the tin, I have tested this successfully with encrypted PayPal buttons :)
