Thick RSS Browser 2.2
Not Working - Feed Opens in new browser Window, July 12, 2007
0 of 1 people find this review helpful:

Thick RSS Browser 2.2 Unless I have missed something. The News Feed works well, however when you try and open the feed link, it does not open on my site as the author Claims. Intead it Opens in a new browser window. There is a message saying that it requires thick-1.7 and Higher. However the Link goes back to the original file mod_thick_1.7 that I just downloaded.
Something is defintely missing. The Only good thing is the ability to remove RSS images and titles as one pleases. Other wise it would have been a an execellent module. At the end of the day it is no different from the Joomla Default. I give it thumbs down for false claims.

J!oogle
This Component is no Longer Use full Google uses AJax Api, June 19, 2007

J!oogle I spent a lot of time attempting to figure out why J!oogle did not work. Lacking was instructions from the author. I finally figured out that I needed the so called google web API key. (it would help if you had explained what it was and how one could obtain it) Being already registered with google I din not know which one it was. It took me forever to figure out what it was. Finally after a search. I found out that google no longer issues API keys that work with this script. Dude it would be nice if you indicated that. It would save lots of time.

 A waste of time..Does not work!, September 12, 2006

I downloaded the latest version. Both the component and the module. It basicly does not work. It is unable to read the language file. Even if you set the file and fiolder permissions to 777. The developer has last maintaned his code in aug 2005. Possible because I have joomla 1.12 and his componenets were made to work with earlier models. I send an email to the developer and email was retuened as undeliverable. If ther are those who had luck getting it to work . Please let us know what you did right.

Thanks

MgMedia2
mgmediabot still has issues with creation of XML file, September 12, 2006
2 of 2 people find this review helpful:

MgMedia2 I have installed the mgmedia on my site, it manages to read and display all media files in a folder very well. However it is supposed to create an xml file playlist for the media player to parse and read from. It has a bug and fails to create this xml file. As a result to that, the media player will load but will have the error! "cannot fine the xml file" I went into the code and adjusted a variable to view player list but that did not work as well, I checked the folders for an xml file but could not find one. I then created an xml file on my own and the player was able to work. Another problem that exists or perharps is already fixed is the file extention error. For instance you must ensure that your file extension for mp3 as such are of lowercase. To the mgmedia the file 'file.mp3' is not the same as 'file.MP3'. I noticed that there was an attempt in the code to sort this out but it does not work all the time. I would suggest that instead of having the 'click here for play list' link. The developer could simply create a link directly to each media displayed. As i stand now...my mgmedia gallery is not working. However the insert media directly in content is superp and exceeds my expectations especially with streaming.
Conclusions it is good enough for what id does. but can be improved 4 out of 5 stars awarede
